Good Gongs For Once
I hate this time of year, when the Civil Service give each other awards, and Shaftesbury Avenue becomes even more "lovey" than usual. But here is one that would appear to be worth it ::

No mention whatsoever about his charity work. He just plays pop music...what extra merit is there in that, that he should deserve a gong ?
He is not making the lame walk or the blind see again...its just poo music for goodness sake !
Here's another :::

Sir Marcus Setchell is already a "Sir" so we must presume that he has already been awarded an earlier, very high-ranking gong. I don't suppose that his delivery of little Prince George had anything to do with his new award did it ?
I don't have any problems with people being honoured, who do amazing voluntary work, like the Life Boat chap, or any of the others. But I do have a problem with people getting these useless gongs for just doing their jobs, as we expect them to.

But I already had looked zacs...it was you that hadn't bothered before you posted at 09.29 this morning.
Let me make it clear it, if I haven't already.....charity work, etc...deserving for gongs.....DJs playing pop music......not. Think of all those awards that a certain DJ was given...you know the one...he died 29-10-2011.
I thought I might have made a typo in my last post...poo for pop, but on reflection, I probably hadn't !

The implication in your post was quite clear. You think that Tong should be eligible for an award for his charity work.
Well, if his charity work is all you say, then I would be quite happy about consider giving him a gong. But he got the gong for just doing his job, which in my opinion is what is wrong about our award system., and the point of my original post here this morning, at 09:09.
