Well it seems that simply by posting a news report on the accidental death of Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall's brother it has opened a whole can of worms full of hatred against this Camilla.

So I think the best questions to ask now is why is she so hated by some, was it because Charles happened to fall in love with a married women, (nothing new there it happens not only to the aristocracy, but even to mere mortals)?

Or was it because the late Princess Diana, reached idol status among the minds of some?

And finally why in the minds of some is Charles not fit to become King, or Camilla his Queen?

In addition to the other objections to Camilla being a suitable match for Charles, initially, she was also raised in the Catholic faith, which was a complete no-no and probably still would be
Camilla is not a catholic and never was .Her former husband was however and her children were raised in the catholic faith .
Because one may have been raised in a particular way does not necessarily mean that one adheres to that when adult.
This thread is interesting in that it shows just how irrelevant the entire royal family is to the country.
But they will be our sovereign lord and lady in due course. How can they be irrelevant?
^^^ Hmm, OK, I'll play. On the assumption that you're not taking the ***, precisely how with they be our "sovereign lord and lady"? What power will they have? If they told you to do something, would you be obliged to do it? Under whose authority would they be acting?

It's interesting and, perhaps, not a little revealing, that you appear to believe that they are somehow better than you.

Very 'umble, very 'umble.
shaney, I'm not disputing your info... just that when Charles and Camilla were an item first, the papers reported here [ in Oz] that she was Catholic and much was made of it at the C of E college I attended [ and that was so long ago ]
you get papers in oz?
we do, svejk, and guess what ..... we can read em, too !!!
ah, I think we call them comics. ;o)
:)) @ svejk !!

Queen Margaret would have been awesome, no she shouldn't have been a drunk and a party girl, sure that works.

as to Scotland being free of royalty, not according to your illustrious leader
he is happy to keep the monarchy

/// What a load of *** does anybody really care, he in my mind is not fit to be king of england, and she (camilla)is an ugly old tart.I loved diana who was used by the firm as a breeding machine ///

For starters he would not be the King of England he would be the King of Great Britain.

Also how shallow can a person be who makes up their mind about a person by how glamorous looking they are.

Apart from that I find your very rude remarks about Camilla's facial looks, age and moral character very offensive and I am surprised that since offensive remarks are against Site Rules, they have not been removed by the Mods.

/// strangely enough it does matter, its not all about bowing and scraping, but if this man is going to be King one day, its no good having the morals of an alley cat, ///

"MORALS OF AN ALLEY CAT"???????

Wow I suspect that some are now setting themselves up as staunch virtuous individuals.

When has a person's love life ever been taken in consideration for their ability to take on a position of power?

It sounds as if we are forgetting that for hundreds of years, royal personages have had mistresses and lovers, and nobody batted an eyelid - it seems to go with the job.
// When has a person's love life ever been taken in consideration for their ability to take on a position of power? //

Try being a proven adulterer and then try to get elected to President of the United States or Prime Minister of the UK. You won't be.

If there was accountability to being first in line to the throne he would have been out on his ear years ago.

Any proof of that assumption Gromit, other than we don't know if any previous US Presidents or UK Prime Ministers have been adulterers?

AOG
I am sure there have been secret adulterers who went on to be President or Prime Minister, but I said 'proven'. Anyone know for an act of adultery will not be selected in the first place because it is assumed the christian voters will not vote for them.
many of the Presidents had mistresses, not just JFK, i believe that FDR, and Eisenhower did, as well as Clinton, if you are one of the most powerful men on the planet, power attracts. Even if past royals had lovers, it wasn't generally known by the populace at large, more likely to be in court circles, it may well have been accepted by those courtiers, the fact remains these were largely political marriage alliances, not necessarily married for love. that doesn't excuse it, just gives a form of reason.

Edward V111 liaisons with married women were kept out of the papers, its only when his relationship with Wallace Simpson came to light that more skeletons fell out of the cupboard.

and Kay Summersby with Eisenhower, JFK's lovers seem to have been many, going on substantial evidence.
