Should The Queen Abdicate Now- Thinking About This After Carlos Spain
96 Answers
I was wondering what people think. Should the Queen abdicate and give her role to Charles. IF she lives to be the same age as her mum Prince Charles would be 89 when he takes over the throne. She has done a good job but surely it is time she went now what do people think?

The Queen has actually pledged a life time of service anyway so for her it would not be possible. It was only the Edward VIII fiasco that even put it on the table as an option.
//King Carlos looks pretty crap innit ?//
What on earth does that mean PP? Wasn't aware that innit was a word in the English dictionary.
However, getting back to the original question - no, the queen shouldn't abdicate - who on earth wants Charles on the throne? Maybe he'll pop his clogs before she does of course!

I don't much care really as it has no impact on my life but I think it mighg be quite refreshing to have Charles on throne; I just think she's pretty old and so's her husband and they should have a more relaxed time of it (if that's what they want). Oh, and the *** stirrer in me wants to see exactly how twisted the general publics knickers get with Camila's role in it all as I'd find that amusing.
No, she does an excellent job which must be as boring as hell after so long and is well respected by many. I quite like Charles, his charity The Princes Trust does a lot of good work and I like him to speak out when he has something to say, chip off his father there. Pleased to see him happy with Camilla as I think she is the love of his life. Don't want to see Wills on the throne yet he's much too young. Let him live some of his life enjoying his wife and children before placing the burden of being King on his young shoulders.
she has been amongst many thing an ambassador for Britain across the globe, if you don;t think that brings trade then think again, that she has served this country to the best of her and indeed anyone's abilities,
i reckon if anyone were privy to her daily schedule, or certainly in the past, as she is slowing up a little, that they would be horrified at the work load.
she also consults with her PM, ministers, heads of the Church, i don't think anyone should put her down as a hand waving and that is it monarch.

i think she is a remarkable woman who has done a job that she was not supposed to get, admirably.
