PP...if you read all the reports in the media today, you will see that on numerous occasions, victims DID complain and nothing was done. They complained to their mothers, Hospital staff, Teachers and the Police, but they were all ignored. A lot of these people were attacked by Savile repeatedly, over a period in some cases of many years, but who can blame them for not making repeated complaints, when they were ignored in the first place
Other health professionals also complained, at the highest level, and were told that they themselves would face serious disciplinary procedures if they persisted. A staff member, from Broadmoor if think, was interviewed on The World at One today, who complained to senior managers in a meeting that was also attended by Police Officers, and she was told very angrily that she was completely out of order and faced the sack if she ever complained in the same way again.
We shouldn't be surprised that Savile acted the say he did. He was a highly intelligent and manipulative serial offender, There is now growing evidence that he had a serious mental health condition.....what else could explain keeping his dead mothers body in the house for such along time ? His actions in the Mortuary would be of interest to the Medical Profession as well.
The people that should be looking over their shoulders today, are all the people in authority that allowed him to continue for such a long time, when there was overwhelming evidence that they were aware of his disgusting behaviour.
Let me quote Edmund Burke at this point :::
"All it takes for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing"
This has never been truer than the current Savile case.
