Homosexuality was illegal only a few years ago, so who knows what will be no longer against the law in the future.
Will some who object to certain new laws then be classed as bigots or given a particular label?

Very astute AOG - as Palmerston said; even parliament can't legislate indefinitely...
but of course he was wrong
Now - If ONLY parliament said to us punters - we have spent the whole session repealing laws and giving you more freedom, and ALSO we didnt make any NEW ones..... !
Oh, they say - AND we have reversed Douglas Jay ( then Lord Jay and father in law to a prime minister ) dictum - "the Man in the Ministry really does know best", and enacted "the man at the ministry knows narfin' as all the electors really always knew ! "
and then and then AOG...... you would wake up

I find his opinion that if you are sexually abused or raped or whatever when you are a child and you do not report it to the authorities until you are an adult then you are not a victim total incredulous.
I stick by what I have said 100%.
How any sane person can believe that is beyond me. If a new user had that opinion they would be hounded off the site.
To be totally honest I am not in the least bit surprised you are side by side with jordy on this.

That is the way you have chosen to twist his words, this actually what he said,
*** victim when your young, absolutly, but waiting until your nearly 30??? and then deciding that your a victim?
Doesnt add up.i agree with this.it doesnt add up ***
He is agreeing that she was a victim when she was young, and then questioning why she waited until she was nearly 30 before deciding she was a victim.
He was merely quering what i and others had done, the fact that this woman not only continued to be associated with Harris thus enduring 16 years of abuse.

> Harris faces the possible loss of much of his estimated £11m fortune.
He will face a claim for significant prosecution costs, to be determined
at a later date, and several of his victims have begun claims for compensation.
Peter Watt, director of national services at the NSPCC children's charity, which
says it has received a number of calls from other possible victims of Harris

Stockholm syndrome ?
Stockholm syndrome can be seen as a form of traumatic bonding, which does not necessarily require a hostage scenario, but which describes "strong emotional ties that develop between two persons where one person intermittently harasses, beats, threatens, abuses, or intimidates the other

On my planet sarcasm has it's place both in humour and political or judicial comment, which is why I said what I said. It's obscene that so many people feel thy are sufficiently entitled to call the victims motivations into question, suggesting that good old cuddly Rolf isn't a bad chap really because there are 'all sorts of shades of grey'. The rose tinted glasses some people wear sometimes relate to the 'good old days' when you could 'slap a girl's arse and touch her up a bit without all this hysteria' etc etc ad nauseum. The truth of the matter was it wasn't right then and it's not right now, but now we deal with those responsible and we protect and compensate the victims. The people who don't like that have questionable morals imho.
