Probably not totally, but the severity of the punishment is out of all proportion to the 'crimes'.
I believe the testimonies and motivation of some of these complainants have not been sufficient scrutinized, by some of 'les tricoteuses' on this thread.//

I have never said I believed he was totally innocent, but when this thread started people were speaking with emotion as if he had abducted and raped a 7 year old girl, which is completely untrue, and I find the testimony of this now woman to be unreliable in the extreme, and yet it has been used as a component for his unfair sentence.

I've never implied its unfair, baldric. The law is an imperfect mix of the balances of justice and codification, especially when it comes to tariffs. I have always thought it would be 5 years that he got (under the old definition of assault), though longer may have been justified and longer he may yet get. Hence my comment, the law is an ass. Tough.......we lives with wot we have got and we may as well get on with it; there are other routes to justice as well, as implied above.

Right..I am now going to put my two pence in ,I have thought a lot about this RH business and as far as I can make out he has only groped these women...not raped them!!...and all those years ago...why did they not complain then?? One saying it went on for years,why did she not stay away from him,why did she not say anything...it seems that money is behind it coming out now...compensation!!
I am not saying it was right what he did but I feel it has been blown up out of all proportion.
We all know what these young girls are like for celebs...especially footballers..they dress scantily,make a bee-line for them just so they can end up in bed with them...then...they sell their story making out they were forced against their will!!
I know a lot of you are going to be against what I am saying but can you see where I am coming from.
