Speaking as a Scot, she was without doubt the most unpopular PM, in Scotland at least.
That's it is it Farrier? That's all the critiscism you can muster of the great Lady! pathetic! Can you show any evidence that any public money was spend on her son? Nope thought not.
Which industries are you talking about?
I made no comment on Mrs. Thatcher, I'm simply pointing out that longevity doesn't necessarily mean full popularity. Michael Foot in 1983 was nigh-on unelectable, so she won that election almost by default.
Steel, coal mining, for a couple of examples, can't be having powerful unions though can we.
dunno why they where lucky enough to get the ground breaking community charge first, wish we had it now, much better system.
"can't be having powerful unions though can we. " - we had worse, stupid, dogmatic, powerful unions. They held the country like those bandits in the seven. Thankfully we had our own samuria warrior.
Jim, you did say //If we're basing popularity or otherwise on how long the PM serves then Alec Douglas-Home presumably jumps to the top of the list.//

Just saying he doesn’t.

Tony, strong Unions were a disaster for this country. They held the whole country to ransom on a regular basis. Did you like that?
LOL, if you say so, geezer.

The working man's standard of living was better, mainly because he had a job then.
I mentioned the shipbuilders.

Well he's certainly close to the top of the list of PMs in the last 100 years. I think the actual shortest-serving is Bonar Law, then Douglas-Home, then Eden. Either way, the point stands, because Eden was hugely popular but lasted only just over 18 months.

Did thatcher son actually have a criminal record, and was Barred from entering the US OF A?
sorry could only read a few lines it makes me feel sick reading her name
Me.

Aged 14 sat in the PMs chair. Got a 'Aye laddy, now feck off out of there' from some po-faced Scot front-of-house but, for 30 secs or so, I held the power in this country. No red button to push though.
