Do you think Ireland should have granted the mother's request?

She died allegedly from blood poisining but the babe lives, albeit in special care unit as its only a 24week feotus. (Dont know medic terms for these babes).

From link in the OP
///Days later, the 31-year-old died from infection.///
Baldric, that refers to another woman who died in 2012.
I have read the second link and still can't see that she died.
what is "an rape abortion" - and that ceasoring sounds pretty barabaric too. and murder by not terminating, pretty tricky to pull off that one! Tambo put down the voddy luv!
TTT - abortion after rape - I think that was always an exception to the Irish abortion ban (I could be wrong) but some Americans think it should be banned even then because God has decreed that you should be raped or something.

It is a bizarre phrase.
Abortion is still illegal in Ireland.
Ireland usually sends their dirty washing over to England....Abortion, mixed marriages etc.
Yep...they come to England for abortions.

Carrust...what sort of mixed marriage?
Catholic & Protestant, ummm
That's my mum and dad :-) It wasn't a problem though...
It can be in some parts of Ireland though.
In RoI, abortion is legal if the mother is at risk of suicide. The law changed quite recently.
I know. It's cruel.

When I got together with my first BF it was the first question my dad asked...'Is he Catholic?'

No dad....but nor is my mother!!
hc....who decides if she's at risk? I'm Irish and I know she'd probably have to make a suicide attempt before a doctor permits an abortion.

They wouldn't even abort a baby knowing there was a good chance the pregnancy would kill the mother. She died....
The health professionals decide.
Interestingly, it is just as difficult to get an abortion in Northern Ireland.
Health professionals get it wrong because of their faith.
