Yes it makes one wonder why he chose to do this, he has brought the Guards into disrepute, and for such should be disciplined, but by how much I just don't know.
Colchester, dismissed from the Army, transferred to another regiment, or a very stern dressing down along with a restriction of privileges? He is only young so I think the latter.

A builder friend of mine did his National Service in the Grenadiers in the early 50s. It included guard duty outside Windsor Castle.
Apparently, when a Royal walks by, they had to salute, slope arms, the whole business.
One little Prince thought this was good sport, so repeatedly pedalled in and out of the gate ad nauseam. After a great deal of saluting, said Prince got a clip around the ear from my friend.
Someone must have seen this. The little s*d never did it again.......... and no one got into trouble for it.
