It's Entirely Appropriate That This Soldier Is Disciplined
...but part of me kinda wishes he could have a little slap on the wrist and have it forgotten.

I laughed. I expect he’ll be disciplined though – hopefully not harshly.

I thought he had shot someone ( again )
yeah it is in the workplace and the employer expects you to behave suitably.
Perhaps it is his way of showing he wants out and wants another day job.
as sqad asks - can you imagine a Gordon Heelander doing the gay gordons ? yup I can actually. There was a time ( Boer War I think ) when the men were demoralised and so the commanding officer ordered a sword dance ( bagpipes and the men dance across crossed swords - that one )
but Saqad's ex employer was pretty po-faced. Do you remember the junior doctors who photographed themselves in A+E " corpsing" - lying horizontal in odd places - they all got disciplined by an unamused hospital employer - who suffered a serious and sudden sense of humour loss
