Man/woman dressed in a Burka in Leicester, it will be like looking for a needle in a haystack.

Gromit, you are the first to imply racism. That’s not good. This is a discussion about one section of society, the members of which are completely unidentifiab le – regardless of how many CCTV cameras are in use. //It is snowing outside, would covering my face with a scarf be illegal? /// I expect there were thousands of bank robberies that involved men putting stockings over their heads to disguise their identities.
I do not recalled anyone calling for Stockings to be outlawed. What is the difference? ///
A rather silly analogy Gromit, since we don't see persons walking down our streets with stockings over their heads.

RATTER the point is that anyone could run into a bank disguised and demand money but the banks have the means to deter them and they were used in this instance. The point at issue is the problem identifying the man involved. Had he gone in wearing a fake beard and a wig, he would be difficult to identify, ban them too?
And here come the usual excuses – a Santa committing a robbery, no sign of a burka in terrorist attacks in London and Paris, but still no reasoned argument from the supporters – and strangely no mention of the terrorist suspect who, dressed in a burka, evaded the police. Can’t think why that one wasn't included.
But then again, maybe we could compromise? https:/ /woodtu rtle.fi les.wor dpress. com/201 1/10/se xy_burq a.jpg
I do not like the burka (or the male dress). I live in an area with many Bangladeshis, so I see this garment all the time, everyday.
But I do not think I, or rather the State, should be able to tell anyone what to wear, unless it is harming anyone or has offensive wording.
Why should being anonymous as a pedestrian be illegal? It is snowing outside, would covering my face with a scarf be illegal? I see plenty of people wearing Parka coats that obscure the face, again no one complains about that.
It seems the burka is being singled out for a ban, not because of threats to Banks, or terrorism, or identity fraud, but simply because some would rather the people beneath were not in this country.

So, your question isn't really about bank robberies or crime, it is about wearing the Burka in the street when no criminality is being attempted.
It is clear that it is the person you really wan banned, not the dress.

What about nudism do you also think that we should be free to walk around with no clothes on then?
And would you object to removing your shoes if you entered a Mosque?

Ah now we comer to the nitty gritty it is in support of mass immigration that is in your mindset obviously a chip on your shoulder.
You obviously think that some of us think that it is not only the burka we want to see banned, but also the woman beneath as well?
There are many reasons some would wish the burka be banned but perhaps you wouldn't complain if all women were forced to walk about chained to their husbands also?
