Man/woman dressed in a Burka in Leicester, it will be like looking for a needle in a haystack.

Gromit, you are the first to imply racism. That’s not good. This is a discussion about one section of society, the members of which are completely unidentifiab le – regardless of how many CCTV cameras are in use. //It is snowing outside, would covering my face with a scarf be illegal? //It is snowing outside, would covering my face with a scarf be illegal? I see plenty of people wearing Parka coats that obscure the face, again no one complains about that.//
I doubt you'd would easily disguise your gender - and what’s the design and colour of your scarf, or your parka, or your trousers and shoes?
I’ll repeat here what I said on another thread….. //a friend of mine who works for a major department store tells me that CCTV is useless in aiding the police in finding and apprehending shoplifters who wear burkas. They are completely anonymous – and descriptions of their clothing don’t help…….There should be no argument about this. There is nothing sensible to say in its defence.//
I’m still waiting for one rational argument. AOG is right. If we all took to anonymity in this way, the law would very soon change.

The burka oppresses women and yet there is no other oppression of females that I can think of that most free thinking 'westerners' or ABers support, and don't say they choose to wear it, those who choose to wear it have been conditioned to do so. We are so concerned about upsetting the majority of the Muslim population that we don't speak the truth - it's not hard to see that the vast majority of current world terrorism is Muslim led.

Read what you actually put Gromit, here is a reminder
/// I expect there were thousands of bank robberies that involved men putting stockings over their heads to disguise their identities.
I do not recalled anyone calling for Stockings to be outlawed. What is the difference? ///
/// A rather silly analogy Gromit, since we don't see persons walking down our streets with stockings over their heads. ///
It was you who tried to compare the wearing of stockings over their heads.
At the moment the burka is an acceptable garment to be seen and worn by some, consequently it is being used to disguise the wearer in committing certain acts of crime, but every day wearing of a stocking over one's head is not an acceptable every day garment to wear, thus anyone doing so would be an automatic suspect, nothing to do with getting the wearer out of the country.

Proof enough?
*** So how interesting it is to read of the arrests made by police in recent days of a number of men for a string of incidents in London. These involve radical Muslim men trying to enforce Islamic law at night in parts of London. This is done by informing people that they are in ‘a Muslim area’ and demanding their compliance with sharia principles. These include telling a man carrying alcohol: ‘No drink in this area, it’s a Muslim area’ and telling a woman they think is dressed inappropriately that she cannot dress like that ‘in a Muslim area.’ ***
*** They also tell a man they think looks gay: ‘You’re walking through a Muslim area dressed like a fag… You need to get out here… You’re dirty… This is a Muslim area. You’re a gay. You’re a fag. You bloody fag. Get out of here you fag … don’t stay around here anymore.’ ***
