You are quite right - I think it is reactions like that from me that lead to accusations of pomposity and superiority.
Apologies YMB if that is now my post came across - not intended.
It is my reaction to the occasionally over-emotional responses to criminal activity that we get on here.
My calm rational detached viewpoint, which I try to maintain, is because if I become emotional, it simply causes me to feel a massive sense of futile anger which I do not express because it helps no-one.
I would not wish anyone to think that because of that viewpoint, I am immune to the horrors of child abuse. My reaction as a parent and grand-parent is that, if Mr Gadd is convicted, he should be eviscerated with a rusty spoon!

Not long after Glitter was let out of prison for the child pornography found on his Toshiba Laptop in 1997, he promptly went to Cuba and then on to Cambodia, where he continued his habit of raping little girls. He was deported to Vietnam, and guess what happened there...again !
Those that know my opinion on capital punishment, will know that I will never support its return to our judicial system, even for people like Glitter. But if he convicted, here in a British court, I hope he never gets out again, and continues to offend.

Mikey for the sake of clarity
attracting censorious comments CANNOT mean that your comments are censorious but instead someone else is making them about your comments
I was just saying using rather long words that you seemed to be the subject of undeserved abuse in drawing attention to a current case
The jury isn't out is it ?
I agree the case is proceeding almost at the speed of light
