How dare these people protest against free speech, if they do not like this country pack up and go elsewhere, they do not know the meaning of democracy.

Charlie Hebdo knew the publishing of Muhammad cartoons would offend millions of muslims. But they wanted to entertain their small readership of 35,000. Unfortunately amongst the millions of muslims offended was a pair of murderous nutters who went for retribution.
Not sure why these muslims are wasting their time pettitioning Downing Street? The French Embassy might be more aporopriate. Or even just not bother because they look like a bunch of *** protesting about drawings when 12 people have been massacred.

Well, given that they could have run this petition *between* the publication of the offending cartoons and the killings but didn't, I can only assume that all 100,000 of them were, like myself, completely unaware of the existence of this magazine, until it was brought to everyone's attention (in UK) by the massacre.
What is the point of being offended this late after the event?
And what do they expect the British government to be able to do about a publication from France, in any case?

I accuse you, Svejk (and the Daily Mail), of Islamophobia, the demonisation of decent Muslims and racial/cultural bigotry. The neo-fascist view which you appear to be advocating is that the deaths of a few deliberately provocative and nasty"journalists" is somehow more important than the offence felt by millions of decent (and often vulnerable and marginalised ) people in France and, indeed, the rest of the world including the UK. The decent Muslims of Britain have spoken. This point has already been made in an earlier post, but in a calmer and more moderate way. I think the vile assumptions implicit in the OP need to be more vigorously challenged. Shame on you!
