I would agree with all of those - assuming they stand suitable scrutiny by those who understand the figures - and they are viable policies.

As for beefing about Mr Farage's personal habits - considering that the Conservatives had a Health Minister who was on the board of Imperial Tobacco, I don't think he's got much to worry about.

Yes - foreign nationals should absolutely have private health insurance...

But based on that premise, you could argue that any UK resident who has never contributed to the NHS (because they have never worked), should also be forced to take out private health insurance.

However, I would be extremely wary of this £3billion saving from leaving the EU.

The Economist has put the figure at £8billion per year, which sounds awesome, but there are a whole load of medium and long term issues facing the UK after withdrawal which everyone should take on board. This is a very interesting article:

Sir Winston Spencer Churchill made a few errors of judgement but he got this country through it's darkest hour and he enjoyed the trademark cigar,brandy and champagne so the least said about his life style the better.
It's not yet criminal as an MP to smoke and drink but it is to allegedly solicit bribes and he hasn't done that.
Very good idea in practice .The US won't treat you without Health insurance and neither should we.Problem is that ,although you can see on the walls of hospital waiting rooms notices that request people to ask at the reception if they are entitled to free healthcare. No one does and the staff claim it is not up to them to police and challenge those who they suspect are visiting from outside the EU.

I'd suggest that the NHS is a right of the citizen's of these islands and not something they have to prove they have contributed to, which is a different issue.

I have no problem with health tourists having to pay for their medical treatment here, genuine emergencies excepted. They need not have the same criteria for obtaining medical treatment as the natives.

But I think their own government should give consideration to covering the cost if their citizen would have got the treatment at no charge in their own domestic health system; and they had obtained the "ok" to seek treatment in a different country. It need not be private insurance so long as they are covered.

If I took my car to a garage and the bloke fixing it said 'I have a unique view of car mechanics because i have never worked in a garage' I wouldn't trust him to fix it.
Ministers have an army of advisers behind them. If you think Farage's choice of this person as being worthy of fixing the NHS's problems then I think you may well benefit from their mental health services.

Rather academic aog, as they are not going to win the Election in a few weeks. As a minor Party, UKIP can promise the earth, safe in the knowledge that they will never have to do anything, ever.

Vehicle pollution kills 13,000 people a year in the UK.
Not to mention the healthy implications of obesity due to lack of exercise.

Not a single patients' health will be improved by visitors to hospital not paying for parking. Any party serious about public health discourages car usage.

There is not one hospital in the country that does not have a bus service. A taxi to hospital, in many cases, will be cheaper than paying parking fees.

There are costs involved in having a car park. The surface constantly maintaining. The road markings need painting. There is signage and CCTV. If UKIP have their way, all these running costs will have to come from money that should be spent on patients.
Instead money is being diverted from the healthcare of sick people to the healthy visitors to the hospital.
