/// Foreigners will be banned from entering Britain unless they have health insurance, ///
/// Under the plans, foreigners will only be entitled to free healthcare after they have contributed through taxation for five years. It would apply to anyone wanting to come to Britain if it is outside the the European Union. ///
/// more dementia funding, scrapping hospital parking charges and hiring more nurses, midwives and GPs. ///
/// The party said it will use £200million of the saving to end hospital car parking charges in England. ///
/// Ukip will also pledge to provide an extra 20,000 nurses, 3,000 midwives and 8,000 GPs through an annual £3billion funding boost for the NHS it says will be paid for with savings made by leaving the European Union.

Eccles has made a very valid point here, at 15:58.
Just where are all these 10,000's of extra staff going to come from ?
There are those on here that say we have enough "foreigners" in Britain as it is (not me) but as we can't get enough British recruits already, where are these extra Staff going to come from ?
I have been visiting a major Hospital in Cardiff every day for 10 days and its patently clear that without foreign-born Staff, the NHS would have collapsed years ago. Only the other day, Farage was saying that he would prefer the NHS to be run on an insurance-based system, although more level-headed UKIP Members have diverted that idea, thank God.
This new UKIP proposal will join all the other UKIP plans of the past, into obscurity, like introducing a dress code for taxi drivers, regularly deploying armed forces on the street, repainting trains in traditional colours, capping the number of foreign players in football teams, bringing back "proper dress" to the theatre (!), scrapping paid maternity leave, and allowing corporal punishment in schools.

// If there were no parking charges and UKIP proposed them, you'd have an equally long list to denounce them. //
No I wouldn't. Taking money away from patient care to run a car park cannot in any circumstances be justified. Diverting money away from patient care cannot be called a health policy.
A policy of making car parking a non-profit making venture I would support, but that would not be such a vote winner to lazy car drivers.

despite AOG's wailing and ministrations, they will be dead meat by the time the election runs around, blown out of the water by their idiotic, sometimes racist, statements and antics - after all, they are a magnet for the wonderfully inept and corrupt wings of both major parties.
So frankly, who cares a damn about this kerap they have formulated, on the hoof, here, not even half pragmatic as many sensible ABers have already pointed out. How many English, Scottish, Welsh or Northern Irish nurses and doctors are we talking about? Who is going to train them? - oh yes, the departing Indians.

I thought this thread was discussion on people who haven't paid into the system accessing our Heathcare. UKIP apart, I won't be voting for them, there should be a system whereby people should have Health Insurance when they come here and want to be treated at our hospitals. When we lived part time in Spain, we had health insurance. I fell ill and was was taken to hospital and spent a night there. The accountant was at my bedside the next day asking for my Insurance details and suggested I paid the bill then claim it back. On my way out I went to the office and paid then reclaimed it back. I was quite ok about that. When the NHS started it was explained that everyone paid National Insurance through their wages to fund this. Health tourism costs this country Billions. We are number one destination for being treated free.
NHS is trying to get GP's to come back from Australia.

UKIP is staring defeat on the face, so who really gives a stuff what looney "policies" they come out with now ? They can promise the earth but who is concerned in the slightest ? Farage is a loser, surrounded by losers, period.
