The headline is pretty bad and I think the parents are massively overstating it. On the other hand, if there is genuinely evidence (such as the girls' computers) that is not being checked instantly, as it should be, but only after severe pressure has been applied, then the police aren't really doing as much as they can and that's not at all what is needed. Perhaps many people no longer care too much about these girls ("they've made their choice", or words to that effect) -- but a full investigation of the case may help to provide better guidance as to what to look for in future.

As to going to Turkey -- if the girls are already in Syria, and I thought they were, it's not all that productive for the police to be in Turkey and as long as there is full and open communication with the Turkish authorities that is enough. I can understand the parents wanting to go to try and find their children, but I don't think it will achieve much more than just making them feel that they are doing something.

Incidentally, calling for the parents to be thrown out of the country, or barred from returning, however ironically it was meant, is totally moronic. The children I can get, even if I disagree -- their crime is to side with terrorists, murderers and despotic regime. The parents just want their children back, and in the process have criticised the police. If you calling for kicking people out for criticising the state while under emotional stress then seriously you have lost sight of what we are trying to fight for.

Fortunately, issues like admission to the country are not decided on the basis of one citizen's opinion of another citizen's (alleged) opinions.

Perhaps these Muslim so called parents wouldn't object to the UK police forces having a nation wide round up of all Muslim children between the ages of 14yrs -21yrs and intern them for the duration of hostilities in the M.E.That way the authorities would have a better knowledge of the children's activities than these hopeless parents had.Do not the parents feel any responsibility for their own children if not don't breed them? Perhaps these children,if returned alive,should be placed in immediate care of Social Services!!!!

I have always been of the opinion that a passport is a document that must be kept under lock and key when not required.When my two sons had to have separate passports (no longer on parents passports) they were also kept under lock and key.They were only available to our sons when needed to go on a supervised school trip abroad.They were given possession at 18yrs.
How come these trollops had easy access to their passports at their age? Was that the fault of the police? Where did they get the money to finance their trip to Paradise? THEFT of family jewellery? Is Theft condoned in the Koran? I think not.If the parents catch up with their loved ones in Syria they should march them in front of the nearest Imman and demand their hand be cut off under good old Muslim sharia justice. That is the penalty for theft.
I refer to them as trollops as I do not imagine they have sufficient skills to offer humanitarian assistance so it is left to speculation what they went there for!!

which law would that be ?
