Little Boy Killed In Skiing Accident
http:// www.bbc .co.uk/ news/uk -322699 93
I saw this on the news yesterday but I hadn't realised that this little lad was only 7 years old. According to the news, he asked for permission to ski alone. How on earth did his parents allow him to go skiing alone, in such a dangerous place ? What on earth were they thinking of ?

Ummmm....we skied in Canada...... it' s not difficult to ski together and I can't think of a time I wouldn't have kept a child in my sights.

Not all the facts were out and the error was perhaps leaping in, accusing the mother (parents - though father wasn't there) of negligence.
They were apparently all excellent and well-practised skiers....the girl loses a ski and mother stops to help her, the boy shooting along ahead, perfectly natural. What happened next is still somewhat opaque in how he became lost and removed his skis.
It is a tragic accident and one really can't blame the mother, even though she will be feeling like hell warmed up. I've seen enough of these sorts of 'sequence' accidents in walking and climbing in 'Mountain Deathcrew,' as we called it, but fortunately most involved injury and not death - except for a mate of mine who got pulled over Lochnagar cliffs by seven others in a white-out and he couldn't get them to stop.

May suggest that you read through other posts as well. The OP is notorious for taking a BBC report on face value as soon as it is reported. He will judge and castigate when not fully cognisant of facts in the story that later emerge. When he isma de to look foolish by his hasty rants then poof our OP disappears with egg on face

No in the grand scheme of things it doesn't really matter but the OP is never shy of calling other ABers posts daft or stupid.when the Op makes himself look stupid as the majority seem to think he suddenly, as usual, becomes shy of coming back to try and defend his OP.it was just an observation that this is a frequent occurrence.

I am guessing you were addressing me rather than Retrochoc who sadly gets saddled with the blame for my misdemeanours. You are right of course.no argy barges sought but if I had posted this I hope I would be man enough to ait I may have been a little hasty in my judgement or if I had the courage of my convictions I would come back to justify my point and not scuttle off with egg on face.Perhaps we came from a different school of thought.

//Maybe the OP is rising above it all as certain factions seem to be using this post as a master class in mudslinging//
That is what I thought was known as a cop out clause used many times by so called politicians who are caught on the back foot and are not man enough to either put up or shut up.
