The Missus
Prnce William referred to Kate as 'The missis' in an interview for Match of the Day. It seems to have gone down badly judging by the Daily Telegraph OP.

It might be a bit old fashioned, but is it a sexist term?

Ludwig - //// Personally, I have never ever referred to my wife as 'the missus'. she has always been My Wife / Mary / Tanya/Kerri/Charlee's mum, or, jokingly among friends - Head Office, which she knows about, and is fine with. //
You only ever call her the 'present Mrs Hughes' on here Andy, which is worse than anything. It insinuates that you are planning to trade her in for a better model at some point in the future. //
Anyone who knows me at all personally knows that my calling my wife 'Head Office' or 'TPMH' are entirely in jest, as they know the amount of love, affection and respect I have for her.
Anyone who doesn't know me personally, and may be missing a sense of humour, has an opinion that matters to me less than nothing.
Guess which category you're in?
