Its Now Official, Farage Isn't A Politician !
Anybody who listed to "Any Questions" last night on Radio Four, will have heard Farage frantically deny that he is a politician !
Not just a not very good, failed politician, but not a politician at all !
The studio audience, together with Dimbleby, and the rest of the panel were completely amazed at this statement. Unfortunately, everybody was laughing so much, we couldn't hear what Farage said he was instead !
So.... I throw the question open to everybody here on AB. If he is right, and he isn't a politician, exactly what is he ?

Much as I understand your sentiment, bob, I am a staunch supporter of the "First Past the Post" system (as you will see if you look at my posts shortly after the election. It has its faults (not the least because of the comparitive numbers of seats gained by UKIP and SNP). But I still support it over any form of PR.
Mikey, //The reason that UKIP completely failed to make any headway in the Election, and actually lost one of its seats, was because they were not popular enough//
That's illogical. If Ukip got approximately three times as many votes as the SNP it stands to reason that, democratically, Ukip must be more popular by far than the SNP.

Ludwig...nothing strange at all ! Farage appeared on Any Questions and I am commenting on that appearance, in the same way as anybody else on here can do.
He said, quite clearly, and without any confusion, that he is not a politician and I have pointed out that he most certainly is. The program is available in the BBC iplayer and you can hear for yourself excacty what he said.
He is the Leader of a Party and he has held a seat In Brussels since 1999. So, quite how he can say that he isn't a politician is beyond me and it was greeted by widespread disbelief and ridicule on Friday night, from pretty well everybody in the studio.
While he continues to act in this way, I think he is fair game for comment, from me or anybody else.
But I must be honest and say that he was dead right about the Tories current plans to cut Tax Credits...he said that it was the wrong thing to do at this time, so he doesn't always talk nonsense !
