What on earth is going on here ? Ken Clark was the last person I would have suspected of this sort of thing.

That Ben Fellows sounds like a fantasist. Bit early to tell.
And he hasn't been officially accused/charged of wrongdoing either!!!
\\Ken Clark was the last person I would have suspected of this sort of thing.\\\

\\\My son is innocent, i know him better than anyone////

\\\ Our marriage is based on trust and understanding"

and so it goes on.

//How can he be guilty ,or even the case get to court , He is a Tory. //

then how did this happen, bouncer?
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/364174.stm
So don't suspect him.
It is not Ken Clark who is on trial, it is the actor.
Bouncer33- the case is against Fellows not Clarke isn't it?
Archer, Aitken, Huhne are 3 names that spring to mind of Tories sent to prison. There are of course MPs from other parties who have been convicted too
mikey - //Ken Clark was the last person I would have suspected of this sort of thing. //

Funny - I'd have said that about Saville / Travis / Harris .....

no-one is immune from a dark side, no-one.
Ken Clark was the last person I would have suspected of this sort of thing.

What is the reasoning behind that statement?
Huhne Is of course a LibDem. Remember them?
There was thread on here a few months ago where ric-cor seemed to know a lot about Clarke in this area.
You're right Gromit- I was thinking of the last Coalition governemnt. But I'm sure there are other Tories who could be listed
Ken Clark is NOT on trial it is the actor Ben Fellows who is on trial. He is accused of contempt of court by claiming he was assaulted by Ken Clark.
Mikey, at least wait until an MP is actually accused before you prejudge them!!. Ken Clack has not been accused of anything! He is a victim not a
culprit .
The story that Fellows has spun does not bear scrutiny.

He claims in his ststement to have been groped by Clarke on the offices of Ian Greer Associates (IAG). Except the Cooke Report set up a the meeting at 55 Park Lane, a Suite owned by Mohammed al Fayed. Minutes taken at the meeting do not have Clarke as being present.

I cannot see this trial lasting the full 14 days.
Personal politics are irrelevant. Do keep a sense of perspective!!
Some posters on this thread are in danger of committing libel , Ken Clark HAS NOT been accused of anything! It is a trial for contempt of court due to a false allegation about Ken Clark. We need to be aware of that fact!
I think the Ed should pull this thread before a libel is committed.
Eddie - I see nothing libellous in anything anyone has posted thus far - would you care to point out where you think any libel may be? I think you are on safe ground, there is nothing accusing Mr Clarke of anything that I can see.
If Fellow's accusations are found to be false, I hope Ken Clarke sues him for every penny.

I don't even know why Ken Clarke was openly named.
