She conforms to the teachings of Sharia Law. They are the real nasty ones who kill infidels aren't they??
I wonder how much brainwashing she would need to compromise the safety of the crew and passengers???
I agree that she should be sacked. However, it's not only Muslims who think that the rules should be bent to conform to their own religious beliefs. Some Christians do the same. As far as I'm concerned, anyone, of any creed, is free to follow own their beliefs, but if that means they need to find another job, then so be it.
It's interesting - this has echoes of the previous thread about religious beliefs coming into conflict with employment expectations.
As usual, the responses split into to two - the tolerant reasonable AB'ers who advocate that this woman should be dismissed because she is failing to fulfil her professional requirements, and the rather more unpleasant intolerant AB'ers who want the same thing, but have to add nasty snide remarks about this lady's faith.
The end result is the same, but I know which position I would rather take on this.

It is always very noble to support the religious beliefs of others and see good in them.
However people like this woman are put on earth to cause mischief no doubt in the name of litigation. Using the Islamic religion is one of the best ploys.
Islam!!!! Wooh. Hold back here boys. She is certainly doing Muslims a great disservice.
She has changed her position/religion post engagement and must of known after three years that she is required to serve alcohol.
Is she expecting to be excused other duties during the flight in order to attend to her prayers?
She should be dismissed without a costly tribunal for litigation.
It's my opinion that if you choose a stringent and strict way of living your life, then you must accept that the World may not accommodate every single one of your choices.
Eddie - "'Muslims are not allowed to serve alcohol to others' Try telling that to the owners of my corner shop! They sell more booze than Tesco."
I am sure that religious edicts in the Muslim faith are the same as any others - not eating meat in Friday for Catholics for example - the laws are there, but individual interpretation decides which are obeyed or ignored.
My barber is a Muslim, and he has had his beard trimmed because its length was giving him a skin rash. He has balanced the needs of being comfortable against the sinning against his faith, and has made an accommodation with what he has done.
That's how religion works - in any faith. Rules are divine, followers are human.
Like most similar cases - aggressive wearing head coverings and suchlike, you will find a cowardly man putting her up to this, a father, brother or husband.

That's an interesting observation.
Generalised, biased, and totally without evidence, but still interesting.
