THECORBYLOON //Rana Saif, 55, who owns a pub in the village and took the photograph of the black limousine, said: ‘It’s a big waste of money – and taxpayers’ money at that. 'I have no problem with immigration, I moved here from Sweden, but there are too many in a small village. The limo was here about half an hour. I thought it must be a stag do. 'There were...

/// Just because this story has appeared several newspapers is not indicative of its veracity. ///
Then it is a wonder that we believe anything that is printed or announced by the news media.
With this in mind, how is it then that some seem to know what is actually taking off, or do they only choose to believe what they themselves choose to believe?

AOG 'Then it is a wonder that we believe anything that is printed or announced by the news media.'
It's always a good idea with any news article (especially in written form and especially by politically affiliated news sources) to start off from a 'Prove it' standpoint or at least 'what's their angle'. Taking such a stance may lead you to posting far less controversial OPs.

I wonder how much that journey from London to Manchester cost in fuel.

/// I am sorry you feel under attack, only from me it appears, but since you take such exception to my posts, I shall cease providing them on this thread. ///
Or on any other thread would be fine with me.
You query why I only seem to attack you? Then let me remind you this is how you once again set things off simply because I happened to repeat the ethnicity of the migrants, as did all the news reports.
/// Is their ethnicity relevant? ///
/// Surely a waste of money is just a waste of money - does it inflame Mail readers further because the men in question are asylum seekers, and from Africa? ///
Perhaps you should first think what you put, the first was a particular question to me, criticising my need to mention the ethnicity of the migrants/immigrants, and the second once again, of inflamed Mail readers, with their racist attitude.

The same company also supply prison vans that transport prisoners to and from court and between jails. I suppose it would have been 'out of order' to use one of them?//
I suppose it depends if their true status has been established. If they are waiting a decision as to true asylum status they should be banged up and transported in a prison van. If it has been established they are true genuine asylum refugees they should be given a map.

How have I mislead you or anyone else for that matter?
This was reported in the Guardian.
/// Rana Saif, who runs a local pub in the village, told the Daily Mail: “The limo was here about half an hour. I thought it must be a stag do. There were seven migrants, all young African men. ///
/// “The driver said he was going to take them to Manchester and he was being paid £3,000. He said the Home Office would pay him.” ///
Perhaps the Guardian and all the other news outlets should now apologise, but first the village pub landlord, should apologise, after all wasn't it he who was actually on the spot?
Unless of course you know different Gromit, perhaps the newspapers also made up what he said?
