"The ONS said: “About 68% of the projected increase … is either directly attributable to future migration [51% of projected growth], or indirectly attributable to future migration through its effect on births and deaths [17% of projected growth].”

I find this scary and I am concerned about my son's future, but fear there is nothing I can do.
I'm with you Baz but I think there are still a few bleeding hearts who will say differently. I used to be one too until I saw the light and admit that I was wrong. Mea Culpa
Starting a post with offensive language isn't really in the spirit of AB. Do you not have sufficient command of the English language to get your point across without resorting to insults?
I live on the edge of Birmingham and go into the city centre now and again.

I am a 66 year old "white" male, and when I go there I feel like a stranger in my own country.

So many Asians, Blacks, Chinese, women in muslim headscarves, women in saris, women in burkas with their face covered.

I hate it and it nearly makes me cry when I go to central Birmingham.

From the details above it sounds like it is going to get worse.

Soon being "white" will be the ethnic minority.
'offensive language' ???
You might like to make yourself acquainted with the following which was part of the report:
'The projections are the outcome of a calculation showing what happens if particular assumptions
are made. As a forecast of the future population they would inevitably be proved wrong, to a greater
or lesser extent. As well as not taking into account future government policies, there is uncertainty
in the underlying data – for example, estimates of the current population or of past migration flows –
on which the projections are based. In addition, there is inevitable uncertainty in the assumptions
reflecting the inherent unpredictability of demographic behaviour. The latter reason means that
projections become increasingly uncertain the further they are carried forward into the future.'

' this should be treated with caution in view of the
increased uncertainty on demographic behaviour that far in the future.'

viv: 'do gooder leftie apologists' I presume Baz means people with views not in line with his own. Pretty offensive in my view.

you can presume what you like...its clear from my OP what i mean...
But offensive language to me Zacs mean swearing and such like !! I didn't find that offensive and I vote Labour (well, I used to .....) !
Question Author
Well Viv on here its people who tell it like it is rather than going round and round in circles on tippy toes worrying about the thin skins of the mostly leftys who take offence and look for offence at every possible opportunity, that are classed as offensive....
My goodness Baz, you are an angry little soul aren't you.
an ageing population needs younger immigrants to pay their pensions. You'll be in trouble without them, and so will the NHS and all those requiring low-paid workers because people like low-cost goods.

All alternative suggestions for running the country on the cheap will be considered...
Question Author
nothing angry in that, im pretty happy sitting in a coffee bar with free wifi and laughing at some of the responses...

seems to be you whos angry and getting offended...
I don't blame his Zacs, don't you worry for the future of this country ??
'him' not 'his' ....
Neither of my parents were born in the UK - common enough a hundred years ago and there was a right of return [ so I am an immigrant in case you wonder what that was about ]

and baz you forgot to say that the ONS and its predecessor has got population stats badly wrong in the past

my let wing heart of course continues to bleed .....
Question Author
"Pretty offensive in my view. " or is that you being offebded on behalf of others...another trait the do gooders et al have turned into an artform
