Indeed you didn't - I attributed a coment to you that was made by another AB'er - please accept my apologies.
// I don't wish to derail this Trump lovefest so I'll just content myself to say that you are entirely wrong (nothing unusual there then) about how WW1 is perceived by experts these days. i.e. it was not Lions led by Donkeys, blood thirsty Generals led by a deranged Haigh, etc. etc. //
Not sure if this is a Trump lovefest (!), but I applied the link merely as a point of view - not necessarily entirely my own view I should add.
I think we all have the benefit of 20/20 hindsight with regard to war (Mr Blair and Mr Cameron being the honourable exceptions of course) and I think it was a case of lack of awareness of the futlilty of the action - only seen with the benefit of said hindsight, that allows such a view as 'Lions led ...' to come to fruition.

Thank you very much - you too!!

I've been out all day and have only just come in TTT, and, with respect, I have no desire to plough through all the posts on this thread.
But I am not "starting to like Donald Trump" at all....not even one little bit.
He has shown himself to be a racist, xenophobic and misogynistic mouth-on-a-stick. He is now embarrassing his own political Party, as well as everyone else.
Every time he opens his big mouth and puts both his feet in, he makes Hilary's position next year even more credible and certain. He is single-handedly making the Republicans unelectable again, for another 4-8 years. Its difficult to see how anybody would make Sarah Palin appear sane and normal, but compared to him, she now looks like Mother Teresa.

No I wouldn't. My life is worth a lot to me, most of the time, but objectively it's not worth the suffering and immoral treatment of innocents borne of rampant paranoia.
It's shameful that people think this is worth taking seriously. Never mind the practicality issue, it is just wrong, in every respect. Always has been, and always will be.
