Lets cut to the chase here why not. Babies with pierced ears usually come from certain 'factions' of society - some are cultural ( Asian, Gypsy etc) some fashionable -certain people call them 'common'. Considering the social demography of AB I doubt very few on here has children or grandchildren with ears pierced from being a baby. Katie Price has done what most women from her background would do - its not mutilation its just common.

After watching that im utterly appalled why any parent would ant to inflict that much pain on their children.
Yes the pain is momentarily, but I for one wouldn't want to inflict one nano second of pain to my daughters (or sons if I had any) and I'm utterly flummoxed why anyone else would.

Ummm, it happens to children and the schools can’t control it which is why the schools have rules about it. That doesn’t make it acceptable IMO. While personally I don’t like to see children with pierced ears, I think the issue is different when they are at an age when they can ask to have it done. Babies can’t choose and that IMO is what makes it mutilation and unacceptable.

Yes she was - because her parents were mauling her around in order to present her ear to a stranger so she could punch a hole through it.

Comparing ear piercing with an injection is nonsense - no-one has their baby injected for pointless vanity reasons.
My youngest is nearly twenty-seven, and I can still recall my distress at taking her for her immunisation, and the way she cried when it was done.
It was necessary, but that didn't make me feel one iota better about putting her through it.
The notion that I pay someone else to hurt her deliberately in order to satisfy my twisted notion of fashion is something I cannot begin to comprehend.

If I were to take you and hold you down while someone punched a hole through your ear without your knowledge or consent, would you 'forget about it within hours?
Or would the pain be compounded by the fact that you were assaulted and maimed for absolutely not value to whatsoever, and there was nothing you could do about it?
Of course, there is the small saving grace that you are a stranger, so I wouldn't have to endure the moral vacuum needed to do that to a tiny baby I had helped to conceive.
