At the risk of getting back to the point, could I ask the OP - perceived digs, insinuations, insults, aside - what he thinks of the answers thus far, and might he agree that lefties don't have a monopoly on criticising Blighty And that many if not all are quite fond of the old place

I would agree – that’s why I haven’t done it.

I referred to a ‘neurosis’ – a concept not attached to any individual. I think referring to the Mail readership as a generic term is permissible, especially as I name myself among them – as you can see from my previous posts.

I know from experience that you are fond of the epithet ‘silly’ for those with whom you don’t share an opinion. I think the term is offensive, and I have told you that when it has been used against me.

So I would not dream of referring to you as being ‘silly’ – but I do think you are mistaken, and have been a little too keen to criticize me without actually reading what I have written.

I am sure I can rely on you to re-read my post, and hopefully you will see that your accusation is not valid.

This of course leaves aside your absence of any comment about the vitriol that has poured from AOG for the last several months – perhaps if you are bothered by people who don’t agree with others, you should consider swinging your spotlight in his direction.
