On the News Section we have seen Katie Hopkin's opinions both criticised or supported, but whatever your opinion of her, I am sure most of us will wish to convey all our good wishes along with every success on coming out of this surgery successfully cured of her dreadful epilepsy?

Get well soon Katie.

You've only got to remember the vile way the lefties "celebrated" Maggie Thatcher's death to realise what an unsavoury bunch of miserable excuses for normal human beings they are.

The good news is that Katie Hopkins seems to have made a successful recovery from her 12 hours operation, best wishes Katie.

But the bad news to all those who would wish to silence her is that they won't.

I am pleased that Ms. Hopkins is recovering, but that pleasure is tempered with the thought that her vitriol and point-and-laugh 'journalism' will soon be back in the public domain.
Ah, aog, *Baths taps side of nose* it's not what you say on AB, but who you know....

I am so pleased that you are glad that Ms. Hopkins is recovering, but at the same time very disappointed that you still continue to spout your vitriol against her.

I would have thought you of all persons would have been first to step in and criticise those who support a similar agenda to yours, and convey to them that this was not the place or the time to use this opportunity to vent their aggressive feelings towards the said lady.

But in a way I am glad that this thread has not gone the way of others and been removed, because I wish this to remain as a testament of how completely insensitive and bitter some can be when they don't wish others to voice opinions that do not match their own.
AOG - Did you not see Bathsheba's smiley face at the end of her comment?

Good news that she's making a successful recovery and will soon be back at work.
Yes, good news.

Some will hope she switches to the forthcoming new paper where readers won't have to think! Not me though, like most people in life I choose to agree or disagree. Simple really, isn't it?

I saw Katie on Big Brother. (I used to be a psychology student and still find body-language fascinating).
She spoke a few times about her epilepsy and how frightened she was, that one day it would kill her and leave her children without a mother.
Before anyone can make a nasty comment about that, apparently her children think she's fun. Maybe she is? (She certainly was on Big Brother and I wish she'd won it instead of the thoroughly boring Katie Price). Maybe she has that gift of leaving her 'work' behind her when she's with her children, so that they don't think of their mother as 'that person who's always in the press as the most hated woman in Britain'. I wish her well...
I think her biggest danger of death is from her readers judging by all the death threats she gets, that doesn't seem to bother her or the thought of not being around for her children! I think she is also putting her children at great risk!
Neocons never cease to make me smile.

It can be summarised thus...when someone from the 'Right' says anything, no matter how offensive or rude - they are simply speaking their mind.

If anyone criticises them, they are spouting vitriol.

Seriously funny.

Better than vaudeville.

Absolutely!

Phrases like 'I believe in speaking my mind ... plain speaking ... only saying what others are thinking ...' and similar, are simple preambles to someone being stratospherically rude and insensitive under the seriously mistaken belief that if they are thinking it, then the rest of the world needs to hear it!

This is not about speaking your mind per-se but speaking your mind in an appropriate place, and this "get well soon" thread is not that place.

Why can't some of you be polite enough and sympathetic enough to realise that?

If someone comes on the news section to report on a person's death, as is often the practice, and if I detested that person so much that perhaps I would not mourn their passing, then I would simply choose to refrain from joining in those posts of sympathises, rather than take the opportunity to spout forth vitriol towards that said person.

It is simply "just manners".

I speak my mind but I did learn at quite a young age that it's not always appreciated. Now I only speak my mind when asked for my opinion (in real life)

Give it a rest. So tedious!

Good News that Katie is 'up and at 'em' again.
And enjoy your little Spat guys.

Glad she is doing ok.
I’m confused. SP said //when someone from the 'Right' says anything, no matter how offensive or rude - they are simply speaking their mind. If anyone criticises them, they are spouting vitriol.//

andy-hughes responded with // Absolutely!....//

…. and yet he accuses Katie Hopkins of speaking “vitriol”.

I have to go out now but if someone can explain what appears to me to be a strange anomaly, I’d be grateful. Back later.
