So, everyone who said 'let them in' is responsible for Brussels..
Is this a realistic assessment?

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.SP, I haven’t sidestepped anything. You asked me: //If these murderers are born and bred Belgians, isn't the question of refugees moot?//
And I replied ‘No’, and in order to demonstrate why the question of refugees is not moot, I asked “Are you sure that none of the refugees share that [the bombers'] philosophy?” – a question you’ve sidestepped.
In answer to your question, these bombers were not refugees.

Ah ha!
I now see what you mean. I should have clarified my point. I meant that in relation to this news story, the question refugees is moot, because the bombers are not refugees...not that the question of future attacks by refugees is moot, because I have no way of guessing where future attacks will come from.
One point that someone in the office raised when we were talking about this though - is that it's unlikely in the short and medium term that attacks will be carried out by people new to Europe, because (fake) refugees would need to recruited (say, in Syria), transported to an EU country, lodged in a safe house, acquire weaponry, plan the attack and then execute it.
There are a number of 'points of failure' there which do not exist with home grown jahidis.

that's true enough if you set the stake in the ground today. but non european migrants have been arriving in the UK in large numbers for more than ten years, and the time needed for the Hamburg cell to be 9/11-ready was only four.

ISIS have already entered Europe posing as refugees. Their are plenty of safe houses and welcoming brothers awaiting them, no doubt, in the UK as well.
The weapons and explosives are already in Europe. Belgium is a Jihadis arsenal. They have already infiltrated Europe and as an earlier post mentioned Mosques have found to contain veritable arsenals in Paris etc.

Hardly surprising that Belgium suffered this latest ISIS attack. This country is the largest terrorist quartermaster for illegal gun sales to terrorists. The country is awash with AK47s. Yes lets open our doors to refugees?

//most illegal firearms are in the hands of criminals,//
The dealers in Belgium are criminals who supply the jihadists. Belgium also has vast quantities of Eastern European weaponry which are sold illegally by their criminal gun dealers to our UK criminals. A lot of illegal handguns used in crime in the UK are Eastern European. If they can get here and be sold to drug dealers and other criminals then they can be also sold to terrorist cells here also.

Oh TTT, I'm gutted (not that you should care)...it was people like you and New Judge that I looked to as being the intelligent/entertaining posters on AB who I never agree with.
It's m truly disappointed that you've taken the 'Let's not understand the point and instead just blow out chunks of nonsense' line.
It's not semantics.
It's fact.
And you're stretching the word 'refugee' to breaking point.
