So, everyone who said 'let them in' is responsible for Brussels..
Is this a realistic assessment?

Now you see, SP, that is precisely what you shouldn’t be doing – playing the race card. Why do you insist on aligning yourself with these people and why on earth do you want them here? I simply do not understand it at all. They and their ethnic origins bear no resemblance to you and your ethnic origins whatsoever. Why can’t you understand that?

Sorry but I shall not be dictated to and will write what I want on AB without having my posts censored by the likes of you.
Only kidding...I have always wanted to use the 'likes of you' line, which has been popularised by other posters on AB. Horrible innit.
In seriousness - I have heard that line from divebuddy before...but don't get me wrong...no-one has actually said it to me...I've just heard it a number of times (on AB mostly).
I wasn't having a go at divebuddy...honest. I was simply pointing out that this is something that I've heard before.
Am I allowed to say that?
Or should I not comment?

Why are you saying that I align myself to these murderers?
How dare you.
Seriously...I'm curious as to why you insist on putting words in my mouth.
Why do you think that this means that I align myself with terrorists:
"I recognise that like of thought
Not new to me"
The fact is - I actually recognise divebuddy's thought process, because he is expressing something that I've heard for year. Not necessarily directed at me, but the whole 'a dog born in a stable is still a dog, not a horse".
It's a very old phrase.
Have you not heard it?

SP, I didn’t say you’re aligning yourself with these murderers. Who is putting words into whose mouth? I do, however, think you’re aligning yourself with the migrants and I don’t know why. Simply because they come from foreign parts I presume - which is no reason at all really.
Yes, I have heard that phrase.

What about the current influx of immigrants?
Do you think that my mother and father didn't have people like you saying exactly the same thing about them?
This is why I cannot join you in your broad brush condemnation of immigrants, because I have family who have had to deal with your ilk.
I'm not saying that you're not entitled to your opinion, of course you are...but allow me not to slate all incomers, and allow me not to join in with the chorus of "second, third, fourth - it doesn't matter etc".
It's just not my point of view.
Do you understand how the immigration debate may be coloured (no pun intended) by someone's familial background?
