More scaremongering. Just how desperate is this idiot? Camoron has lost the plot.

Anyone know what time after the election to leave that the sky will fall in?

Yeah, probably. But who isn't biased?
Yes as Togo has said that’s now two of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse that the EU keeps us safe from. We’ve now had famine (or food prices) and war. That just leave Pestilence and Death. I wonder how long it will be before we are told that our membership of the EU has kept the country free of plagues of locusts for the last fifty years. What utter tosh the Remainders are resorting to.

It does not seem to have occurred to the PM that (a) only a few months ago he said he would recommend withdrawal if he did not get fundamental reform. There was no talk of impending war then and (b) that war between European nations is far more likely when the EU usurps democratically elected governments and replaces them with unelected Euromaniacs. Furthermore, with its ridiculous expansionary strategy the EU came close to provoking a real barney in eastern Europe by offering Ukraine effectively “associate membership”. It was bound to provoke Mr Putin and the results are plain to see. NATO protects European member nations from aggression. The EU never has and never will.

You don't need to worry who your MEP is. MEPs have very little influence over the policies and direction of the EU and UK MEPs have around 10% of it.

"There'll still be cuts to everything by Osborne, increases in taxation and reductions in pensions."

Leaving aside the facts that public spending is at its highest and continues to rise, taxation has not increased (in fact for most people - especially the lower paid - it has decreased considerably) and State pensions rise by at least 2.5% per annum, at least all of this will be under the control of the UK government. Remaining in the EU will see, slice by slice, control over these matters ceded to that wretched institution.
Stuff and nonsense, won't make me change my mind.
Project Panic, Project Desperate, Project Knickers-in-a-knot... poor old Judas Cammy is totally out of control .We all know that lying is his deafult setting but this is just ridiculous. Vote NO, get rid of Judas. win win.
Yes - England and Wales against Scotland.....
Boris has just made a great speech beginning with singing 1st verse (well some of it) you know the tune:

An die Freude To Joy
1 Freude, schoener Goetterfunken, 1 Joy, beautiful spark of Gods,
2 Tochter aus Elysium, 2 Daughter of Elysium,
3 Wir betreten feuertrunken, 3 We enter, fire-imbibed,
4 Himmlische, dein Heiligtum. 4 Heavenly, thy sanctuary.
5 Deine Zauber binden wieder 5 Thy magic powers re-unite
6 Was der Mode Schwert geteilt 6 What custom's sword has divided
7 Bettler werden Fuerstenbrueder 7 Beggars become Princes' brothers
8 Wo dein sanfter Fluegel weilt. 8 Where thy gentle wing abides

DC et al are starting to come over as completely hysterical. I was going to post something like Togo's first post, I think I had raining blood, plagues of frogs etc. and the return of Voldemort amongst other evils.

Surely this has crossed the line in many minds and made voters understand the incredible obfuscation which is going on. Sound and fury, signifying - nothing!
Thanks to our education system, we all know why *we* went to war, twice - which was to save poor old Franceypoohs from the evil machinations of expansionist Germany.

Very little stress is ever placed on why Germany was always so keen on expansion. As an aside, might that be worth a thread in its own right? Does the same desire to expand still exist and why?

Expand it did, though and I note that, second time around, the expansion was southward (Austria, semi-voluntarily) and eastwards (Sudetenland and Poland) before, buttressed against Russia (ally of convenience) they pushed west (France had only the Atlantic into which to retreat).

Cameron's dire warning is, unwittingly, or barely so, implying that a major european nation is going to go rogue, should Brexit cause the union to unzip itself.

Some chum he is of his EU pals…

War in Europe, I think he missed a few things, plagues of locusts, alien invasions, Godzilla appearing and an asteroid striking the uk, there, I think that should scare all the brexiters............................................NOT.

Dave.
p.s.

What is it about steel furnaces which make them so hard to restart after a hiatus in production?

Surely the best guarantee against a war, in Europe, is that all steelmaking capacity in the region be scuppered in a similar manner?

Obviously not. That would be an open invitation for eastern powers to send the tanks in.

D C in state of panic,he seems to've never wanted referendum, now wetting himselp now people are allowed to make up their own minds,we're naughty children!

Chilcot report publication date has been set for July 6th…

How little you know of European history. I wish I could set my historian wife on you. :0)
@Khandro

I'd be delighted to have all manner of myths dispelled. What wine would you recommend?

As a starter, is there any truth in the rumour that the papal order, calling for the Crusades was an attempt to get Europe's feudal lords from fighting petty, territorial wars with one another? Chanelling their aggression into something useful (to the church)?

Pilgrimage was a major money spinner, I hear and the occupation of the Levant was interfering with bizniz.

You would think that inability to reach Jerusalem would enhance the level of pilgrimages to Rome and that the Pope was doing his local trade a mischief by reopening the Holy Land?

Hypo; in haste: to start with, the instigators of WW1 were France and Serbia.
This becomes clear and irrefutable with the much newly discovered documentation.
You could start by looking at the much-acclaimed historian, Christopher Clark.
I'll be back, must dash.
If the warm weather continues will camoron threaten us with a drought, if we vote to leave?................ Vote out and have a lovely summer.
