/// Manchester University Diversity Officer Ilyas Nagdee posted: 'Stupid decision by @gmpolice to decide attackers should be seen as Muslim. Maybe that's why Islamophobias gone up 300% in the UK.' ///

Pleased to note however that they took the health and safety of the victims very seriously, noticing the eye protection glasses.

ag, yes I agree to an extent but when someone gets hounded like Andy does!! It's not just a clash between one or two...it's a whole group 'v' Andy.

It doesn't matter what the thread is about...every single thing Andy says is dissected and analysed.
Bring him an apple in tomorrow, ummmm.

It would seem he spoils every thread he gets involved with.
He seems to cope pretty well.
Ummmm > every single thing Andy says is dissected and analysed

Maybe because he posts the most and therefore, more open to challenge?

Law of averages?

Why do you think AH gets 'hounded' as you put in the first place ummmm?
Just interested in your opinion.

You are not in the position to comment on such matters, you yourself along with others of your ilk, dissect, analysed and attack me at every given opportunity.
doc....why don't you belt up before you get banned.....again?
Give over yourself, AOG, I can't be bothered to read half the tripe you post!
Y'all need to get a room. This is a public forum for X's sake!
You mention the topic in the OP , as I did at 17.29 - you get no comment.

Get all personal and the thread runs to hundreds - speaks volumes doesn't it.
Precisely, Mamy...

Seems funny then how you deem yourself in a position to comment on them then?
Trying (probably to be ignored) to get the thread back on track....

What was the point of the exercise? Presumably to help the emergency services train in how to act in a serious incident. So was the yell before the "suicide bomber" activated important to this. IMHO, no.

Marking the suicide bomber out as a muslim was pretty stupid. However, it is an inescapable fact that over the last 2 years the majority of terrorist attacks have been claimed by ISIS.

It is a fact that an attack could theoretically come from any group or individual at any time. It is entirely possible for any nutter who feels aggrieved to suit himself up in a suicide vest and cause death and destruction.

It hasnt helped GMP to effectively make this an Islam v Police attack. It has drawn press coverage for all the wrong reasons.

GMP should have said "sorry" and then leave it. I cant understand why people get so bloody aerated about this stuff. Police were stupid, but operation served its purpose. Move on, folks.

@Barmaid

My 16:01 post got roundly ignored, too (page 2). Par for the course. Maybe ABers think I am posing rhetorical questions?

(self-referential jocule, there!)

And, no, I can't post these as my own threads as AOG is always ahead of the game, in the area of starting discussions off and breakaway threads just get ignored, in any case.

Retrcop – andsupporters - // A-H can say anything he likes on this site and escape suspension. He is considered part of the editorial team and blameless. This thread will get pulled first before he gets suspended and he knows it.!! //

Either you have a short memory, or you have simply forgotten the numerous times you have levelled this accusation, and the number of times I have refuted it – so one more time –

I am not a part of the editorial team, and I do not escape any sanctions which the Ed and Team deem appropriate. I do not set out to attack any poster, but will defend myself vigorously if attacked, and I have had plenty of experience of doing just that.

So, this is my final post on this thread in order to avoid it being pulled for being off-topic, for which I apologise for my part, although not for my defence in the face of unpleasant attacks.

I see my posts as debate in the spirit of the points made to me – if anyone wants to take offence, feel free, and we can discuss it – and now let’s return to the issue under debate.

I think that's a very fair summary and analysis of the situation. I am delighted to move on.
