Forgive me but I must quote AH here from another thread. But if you voted remain, are you quite happy to accept this?
"What concerns me if we remain, is that the EU will know beyond doubt that the UK is a powerless minnow in its wake, which can be ignored or forced to suck the mop, probably both! "

If the club loses a member, the subscription rate *must* rise, for all members (net beneficiary countries will merely be grumpy about getting fewer freebies).
So it remains to be seen if the victory is "resounding endorsement" of either choice or if it's a low-50s/high-40s close-run thing. An "unhappiness level" of 48/49% really does need looking into and should be a spur towards reform. If EU ignores it, this would prove that their goal is to just boss other countries about.
Or is it just us, who they think deserves that kind of treatment?

Nonsense I'd say. If anything the opposite.
The EU believe it or not is a union of reasonable people with an instinct to try to hold together: therefore far more likely that they will take the referendum and the growing discontent within some parts of the EU generally, to take stock and maybe even change direction. Mr Tusk has already hinted as much.
This idea of 'us' and 'them' : big bad Europe and plucky little Britain is well wide of the mark

Something something "death to traitors, freedom for Britain".
I had hoped that maybe the inflammatory rhetoric of "traitors", etc, might have stopped after last week? Apparently not. Disagree with people who vote Remain if you must, but please. We want what's best for the UK too. I just happen to think that the UK and the EU have, by and large, the same "best interests".
