Hardly a days seems to go by without another atrocity. Can you just go and buy a machete then?

I bought scythes and billhooks and all sorts of other potentially lethal devices in France. I needed them. Knives of all sorts are on open display and anyone can buy them. This is - or perhaps it now needs to change to 'was' - normal.
They are tools, you need them.

Electric drills could easily be lethal. What are you going to do--- ban DIY?
Latest reports suggest the attacker worked at the same food outlet as the pregnant Polish woman he killed and the independent refers to him and the other shop worker claims " he said he had fallen in love with the woman when he started working there."

//There is no link to terrorism whatsoever//
There could be a link to the religious affiliation of all these recent killers in Europe? Perhaps Islam?
Hope you noticed the last paragraph of the link about the concerns of Germans regarding the soaring crime rate since 1 million ' refuges' entered their country.!!
Killer wa s aSyrian refugee, mikey- had been in germany about 18 months. If it was a work colleague and there was some sort of relationship then an link to IS seems unlikely

I knew that. I read the link relating to this OP a little more thoroughly than some it appears. :-)
Ladybirder the machete is not the problem - the person carry it with the intention to harm is - for example a car is a lethal object and as we all know from the tragic events in France, a lorry is a weapon of destruction Guns dont kill, people who pull the trigger do though..
Said on Sky news the machete came from the kebab shop where the killer worked. He came into work earlier and the boss sent him home because he was acting strangely.
Machetes are used for clearing scrub, thickets and jungle.
Cleavers are used in the catering industry!!
Well that clears up where he obtain the weapon if he worked in a kitchen.
Are any of you concerned about the reported 50% increase in 'Racist Hate Crime' since the EU referendum vote ?
Yes as are my friends who are muslim.
^Connection?
^^ Connection is that this question is about a possible 'hate crime'.
I was told I must have been dreaming or have made it up when I reported the 'anti immigrant rants' in my corner shop on Friday 24th June .
But it seems it was far from being an isolated incident.
You definitely made those stories up and furthermore, they have no connection to this whatsoever.
Woman killed by mad machete wielding man....

Answerbank has gone Bonkers!
