Afternoon.

Occasionally I see ABers talk about how Hillary is "no better than Trump" or in fact, that Trump is better than Hillary.

Can anyone tell me why they think this?

Mikey - it's interesting, and dispiriting to note, that Republicans including Senator McCain, who was insulted by Mr trump for being a Viet Nam POW, line up to condemn his comments, but none of them have the spirit or conviction to withdraw their support of his nomination.

Khandro.....if major players in the Republican Party are now castigating Trump, haven't we reached a point that he might start to lose support ?

The Republican Party is where it is today, precisely because they couldn't see this coming. Its entirely their own fault, that instead of uniting against this ogre, they decided to argue amongst themselves instead.

And its too late now to make another choice.....they are stuck with him, and hopefully, stuck in opposition for another 4/8 years.

I tend to agree - the Republicans really don't seem to appreciate that candidates need to be credible on a number of levels, not just as agitators.

You'd think they learned their lesson after promoting a 'B' movie actor into the White House, but no, now they have a reality TV star who they think will go the same way!

I take it the above slight is meant to be Ron Reagan. Who turned out to be one of the better post war Presidents. He certainly compares favourably in retrospect to the other bunch of sleaze merchants. Then again some would gainsay him solely because he was a................. Republican President.

Mikey you make a habit of attributing "facts" or "thoughts" to people that our own invention. I have made no such claim, and would thank you to acknowledge that to be so. I do however feel that HC would indeed be a worse one than him, not least because she is a proven liar even before taking the reigns of power. Such a position has not made one single President more truthful.

AOG....my point and its one I share with many others on here, is that Trump is not suitable for President, great or otherwise. For reasons that I and others have repeated ad nauseam for months now.

But the difficulty with that is the rest of us will have to live with Trump as President, just as the Yanks will.....fancy Trump with his finger of the nuclear button ?
