How serious do you find this? Should she be struck off by the NMC?

If we are to afford some comfort and leeway to dead-eyed immigrants who stagger here looking for the land of milk and honey, fully aware of what they're doing can we not allow that someone who has gone through the threat of her organs liquefying before she dies in unimaginable horror may not have two over-the-counter painkillers uppermost in her mind?
What about wee Susie who insisted in going for her break when all hands were needed to repatriate selfless volunteers returning from their mission of mercy thus creating another gap in an already incomplete defence line?
Address all complaints to the powers that be who, as usual if it doesn't impact them directly, just want to count the money it'll cost keeping it to a bare minimum but wash their hands of any responsibility.

Both sides of the adrgument neatly captured by the posts from murrayments at 09:51 and douglas9401 at 10:03.
I am minded to back douglas on this one.
The issue arose because Ms Cafferkey took paracetamol which reduced her temperature, but the notion that she did so in a calculated move to disguise her infection was found not to be proven.
It is no use deciding that that this is what she did, and then railing against a hearing that heard all the evidence, and then failed to agree with you.

Of course it was addressed to you Andy. I'm sorry that I didn't put the // marks but I thought that my comment coming immediately after yours might be a bit of a clue.
You are naive in thinking that this woman has been admonished of all blame. The authorities have cleared her to stop the volunteer system from being eroded through people thinking they'd get prosecuted in a similar situation.

Not necessarily.
Apart from anything else, you cannot be sure that one or more posts will not appear while you are composing yours, in which case yours will not follow mine, and you will be forced to add another post saying 'That was to andy-hughes by the way - which is precisely why I quote the post to which I am replying, it saves confusion.

I assume you mean absolved?
//The authorities have cleared her to stop the volunteer system from being eroded through people thinking they'd get prosecuted in a similar situation. //
That is your opinion, nothing more, and it is not backed by the decision of the Discipline Board.
Of course you can say you are right, and they are wrong, but that doesn't make it a fact - and it doesn't make me naïve for choosing to believe their decision.

No but I assumed you might have worked out that, as our conversation had been on going since 10:08, it might be directed at you.
Absolved, yes, thanks for the correction.
Sometimes I have this magical power where I can read between the lines of something and see the truth. It was gifted me by a very astute headmaster via several humanities lessons when I Was about 17. It's held me in good stead ever since and alerts me, amongst other things, to situations where the wool is being pulled over people's eyes.

Are you for real???
What you have is the ability to reach a different conclusion from other people. That is never ever going to guarantee that you are right and they are wrong - however you way wish to see it.
It's a pity you were not 'gifted' a little less 'magical power', and a little more self-awareness and humility!! They would stand you in much better stead!!

Zacs-Master - //Humility is for people who have regrets about mistakes made / opportunities not taken. I'll 'pass' on your advice thanks. //
Now why does that not surprise me - except that it wasn't 'advice' as you will see if you read my post properly.
Does your magical power - which is actually only the ability to reach a different viewpoint, which is not 'magic' at all, since everyone can do it - also preclude you from reading what is said to you, or does it mean you often reach an incorrect conclusion?
