//I am beyond angry about what this says of the world, and what people are prepared to tolerate in it. It's pathetic. Everyone who stands up and defends Trump even slightly deserves nothing but contempt. Shame on you all.//

Well said, Jim. I haven't bothered to read the exposé myself, but is it the plight of Trump's victim(s) which concerns you, or is it the language Trump uses? Or is it the moral consequences of that language which you foresee, along the lines of the generations of young women whose aspirations for a career in science have been blighted by Sir Tim Hunt's joke?

By the way, do you feel equally contemptuous of the many hundreds of people in local government, social services, child protection agencies and the police, most of them with your political attitudes and training, who were "prepared to tolerate" the activities of the "Asian" rape gangs operating in all of our Midlands and Northern cities for over twenty years? And if not, why not?
naomi has hit the nail on the head perfectly, woman and men will behave this way when in a group of their own.

you all do it and i have done it also , it does not mean we disrespect each other.

to me, its just lads banter, i work offshore/onshore with squads of scaffolders both young and old and i can tell you its a daily topic.

i suspect you would hear the very same in any university campus from either girls or guys.
It just goes to show what a pumped up clown he is.

mea culpa.

Do you lead an exemplary life? Are you prepared to cast the first stone?
DD - speak for yourself. I've never bantered in that manner, ever!
In the many sports changing rooms I have changed in I have always found that the conversation is usually about the sport being played and cannot remember any time when it wasn't so.
Can I mention again, for the umpteenth time, how amazed I am that Trump still has as many supporters as he appears to, here on AB ?
They appear to be more anti Clinton...
mikey ^^^^^
I don't think we can stop you.
The manner in which Trump talks on the clip is not what I would call banter - it's just lewd bragging.
Morning Sqad ! ....very funny, although this thread was started by ann.

I appreciate what you say Ummm, but even if people don't like Hilary, and I agree she isn't everybodys cup of tea, to vote for Trump, because he isn't Hilary, just seems to me to be plain daft. He is so awful, that I would abstain, rather then vote for him, given the choice.
dieseldick, //naomi has hit the nail on the head perfectly, woman and men will behave this way when in a group of their own.//

Just to clarify, I didn’t say all men and women behave this way – they don’t - but some do. I repeat, Trump is right when he says that some women throw themselves at celebrities – they do. As he says, celebrities can do anything they like with those women - but those women are not victims, they are willing participants. The fact is he, at the time this is alleged to have been said – 11 years ago – was, as some men are, a loud-mouthed, egotistical flash Harry – and probably still is - but why anyone would consider that a greater moral crime than Hillary’s defence of the man who raped a 12 year old is beyond me. I don’t accept that she did that because that’s what lawyers do, nor because money was involved. We’re talking about ethical codes of behaviour here and as such, if her moral code ‘trumps’ his, I’d like someone to explain why. Since Jim holds nothing but contempt for my attitude, perhaps he will be kind enough to give it a go.

Yes.

I'm sorry, were you trying to make some sort of point?
> "I just start kissing them. It's like a magnet. Just kiss. I don't even wait. ... Grab them by the pussy. You can do anything."

Two things about this.

1) it doesn't sound like they're throwing themselves at him. He "doesn't even wait"
2) it's not the kind of boast that men typically make. Most boasters say "I would" or "I could" not imply that they actually "did", especially when what they actually "did" was sexual assault. Most men would not boast about that kind of thing.

Best case he is boasting about sexual assault. Worst case he sexually assaulted women, in which case his victims may start appearing and using the evidence of his own words against him.
As regards the Clinton "rape case", best I can do is refer you to a discussion of it. Make up your own mind, but it's noteworthy that court records a) make it clear that Clinton tried to get out of representing the defendant, and b) the defendant entered a guilty plea verdict.

Most of what's said about Clinton in that (by her opponents) is made-up or exaggerated.
How has it come to this that of all the people in USA to choose from - it has ended with a choice between a mentally unfit 70 year old and a physically unfit 69 year old.
From reading this, it appears that Trump's supporters are willing to drag all manner of non-relevant information to try and deflect quite how morally bankrupt their man is.

Clinton certainly has her own skeletons, but their existence doesn't take away or balance out Trump's shabby behaviour and opinions.
It seems that he is steadily losing support, not just from the ordinary people, but activists in his own Party.

I put the blame for this squarely in the hands of the Party itself. They have had ample opportunities to reject this oaf, but instead of that, they have been fighting like cats in a sack amongst themselves. They could have got together, chosen one of the other earlier candidates, and showed a united front.

Its all their fault. If all goes to plan, they will be spending another 4-8 years in the political wilderness, all because they couldn't get their act together and choose someone else. Its the Magic Underpants syndrome yet again.

Maybe so...but would you refer to your own daughter as a "piece of ass" as recent disclosures demonstrate he has done?
That's not banter or laddish behaviour...it's sick.
