Considering how popular De-Nero is in the States, I don't think there's much hope for Trump now for President!

“Never watched The God Father?”
Nope. Only ever heard of the version with Marlon Brando. I can’t stand him so I’ve never watched it. I don’t know if Mr De Niro was in that version or another, but I would not have bothered whatever. I haven’t been to the cinema for 37 years and have no intention of doing so in the next 37. The number of films I’ve watched on the telly in that period is probably no more than about a hundred (maybe three or so a year). Having sat through two films that were either nominated for or received Academy Awards (“Gandhi” and “A passage to India”) and wasted around four hours of my life which I’ll never get back, I vowed never to watch any film that had any association with the “Oscars”.
“You are kidding me...right ?”
No not at all, Mikey. As I said, I’ve heard the name (probably in articles such as the one under discussion here) but I’ve no idea who he is or even less, what he’s famous for. I certainly could not identify him from a photograph. The last “new” film I watched was something called “The Bourne Somethingorother”. I believe there were a couple in the series. Couldn’t make head or tail of the plot. Just seemed a succession of people tear-ar5eing about, jumping off roofs and shooting each other. Don’t generally watch anything American on the basis that there is virtually no chance of me being able to decipher the dialogue, let alone follow the plot.
Films made after about 1975 (with the exception of the "bond" films) are just about a closed book for me and as a consequence, with a few exceptions, so are most of the people who take part in them. I find films a bit like football matches – you have to watch five or six hundred of them to stand a chance of coming across one that is moderately entertaining. And I just can’t be bothered.

I would searly love to cut-and-paste NJ's post and pretend it was mine since it so accurately describes my attitude to films/film stars. The problem is, being a judge, he would probably prosecute me for plagiarism/breac of copyright so I'd better keep quiet.
I find it fascinating that being a top actor/singer etc makes people believe that you are highly qualified to comment on politics.
