I can’t say I’ve heard of Mr De Niro. (Well I may have heard the name, but I’ve no idea what he does or did). Judging by his carefully measured remarks I’m not really surprised. The good citizens of the USA must be easily led if their choice of President depends on the opinions people like that. Readers may recall that a number of minor “celebrities” tried this on here in the UK in the lead up to the referendum. Fortunately the UK electorate is not so easily swayed by minor Thespians whose opinion is of little consequence.

Ummm....if I had to select some films to take to a desert island, most of them would be ones with De Niro in them, The Deer Hunter included. Its one of those films that I put in the VHS, late at night, when there is nothing worth watching on the telly, which happens rather too often these days.
