I think that's exactly right, divebuddy. So many laways have changed over the years- we can't rejudge all of them years later. Thankfully times and attitudes have changed, so the law has changed too. But you can't pick and choose which ones to follow- however daft they are.

maybe, but it doesn't really happen often, does it, JJ? More things are criminalised than decriminalised.
This post serves as a reminder of those inhabitants of AB who seem so quick to denigrate all who question or protest against current prescribed laws and suggest that "they" may have got it wrong sometimes. Three cheers for those who dare to question authority.

Until 1961 attempted suicide was a criminal offence, often resulting in imprisonment. Should all those now be pardoned?

Also, many of those convicted were done so for soliciting for immoral purposes in a public place which I believe still remains an offence.
If the National Speed Limit is ever increased to 80mph (which is occasionally debated), hopefully everyone who has ever been fined for driving over 70mph will get their money back.
