Do you think an assault on a frail ... old ... homeless ... black woman would make British news channels if it were carried out by stopid Trump supporters?

This is a fairly acrimonious, personality-based election campaign. There are going to be bad tempered confrontations all over the country.

There was a clip recently of supporters at a Trump rally being particularly obnoxious. It turned out that they were Hillary supporters, who had gone along specifically to behave that way, to try and discredit Trump supporters.

It's hard to take Clinton/Trump video clips on face value ... and that includes this one.

Exactly: this sort of thing is probably happening all over the country, on both sides. Much of it probably staged. I agree that the Clintonites are rather unsavoury, some of them, but you don't know what's gone on before - apparently there'd been a lot of winding-up going on. I don't see a group of thugs intent on doing physical harm though.

I think a point has been missed interpreted a bit here.

When she fell over (or was pushed) she went down and stayed down probably because she has come to realise that to stay down Andrew not move engenders less reaction from an assailant. Try to get up and an attacker kicks you down again. Stay down Andrew the damage they can do is less because there isn't a moving target sort of thing.

If she had got up I think it would have been worse. She played possum in the hope they went away.

I would have stayed on the floor and screened as hard as I could. That would have attracted someone not involved thatmay havehelped.

I don't see any assailants, do you? People are ripping up her placards, which they should not be doing, but she just suddens keels over. If you were going to lie down and stay down to protect yourself you'd cover your head, surely.
But she needs her hands to keep grabbing at her trolley :-)
When she does go down someone tries to move her trolley away, but is wisely told by his colleague not to touch her. They can see exactly what she's up to

As if the non story wasn't silly enough without that contribution. The was no pushing, and no physical attack. If there had been a real attack the natural reaction would be to get away from your attacker.

If you are in the middle of a vicious mob with boots flying then it may make sense, if you are already down, to roll into a ball and cover your head.

Remove the fact that this woman is a Trump supporter and you're are left with a woman being bullied and intimidated by a nasty mob ... The attitude of some posters on this thread actually shows them up for what they really are and not what they pretend to be.

Sorry, that woman is a plant (not THAT woman, obviously she was blind or desperate! )
She's got loads of kit on to disguise her age and identity (but not her colour of course) and to cushion her 'fall') :-)
