Apologies if this has been discussed before in news, but can someone explain why Trump wants to build a wall to stop Mexicans coming in. Has he given a plausible explanation??

Is it because of immigration or racism?

If it is because of immigration, why doesn't he build a wall to stop the Canadians coming in???

Half of California is Mexican/Hispanic. He is going to alienate so many people but I don't think he cares about that. He might struggle to find people to build the wall

The big difference is you dont get many Canadian illegals, with Mexico there is a big problem. This is nothing new but it is now having quite an impact especially since many unskilled jobs have gone abroad, hence the "wall"

I have been to California a few times over the last 30 years, and from what I can see, its economy would collapse without the Hispanic work force.

To be honest Talbot I did not know that fact. I loved Obama and guess he must have his reasons along with Trump. Just that Trump is more vehement in getting Mexicans out.

He aims to keep the Mexican cartels out, along with the organised crime they bring into America, also to keep the constant flow of economic migrants out.

Which surely can't be a bad thing if one sees what is happening in Europe.
