One has to empathise with them, the thought of a long missing daughter and now this, what can only be guessed an enormous legal bill to face?
Should they appeal?

As I have opined many times, the law is void of emotion, as it has to be in order to function, so any thought that the McCann's would be ill-served by incurring fees is not taken into account.
I know hindsight is easy - but it does point to the simple fact that they would have been better spending the fund on its purpose, which is finding their child, rather than trying to chase down their maligned reputations.

Can we, the public take any more?
Nearly a decade has elapsed and it is clear that Madeleine is either dead or if alive would now be well adapted to her new surroundings and would be questionable as to the benefits , to her, of reuniting with her parents.
Yes....one can and has indeed empathised with the McCanns, but the bucket of public sympathy is almost empty.

Just read the link, and it's one more example of banding people together with a link that is nothing to do with music, and then making a 'choir' out of them.
There is a massive market for this kind of thing - as groups like The Priests and The Military Wives have shown - but does that make it valid as entertainment?
Personally, I don't think that having a husband who is a solider, or having lost a relative in tragic circumstances qualifies you as a singer or an entertainer - but that's my view because I am seriously passionate about music, and I don't like people riding it for spurious reasons.

The verdict, which has upheld the previous ruling, revolves around the question of what is reasonable within the freedom of expression.
Whilst the accusation against the McCann's is clearly unpalatable for them for several reasons, it would appear that the authorities deem it acceptable for such accusations to be made.
As difficult as it seems to agree with the ruling, I believe it to be an acceptable one.
It is understandable why the McCann's pursuit of the libel case has continued but surely this has to be the time to call it a day.
A truly baffling and desperate missing person case...

Prudie/Baldric - I don't think it is 'wicked' to hold such a feeling.
Everyone will have their own thoughts in the matter but the fact remains that this is an unexplained mystery and is likely to remain so.
Having a 'feeling' that something isn't quite right is a suitably vague belief under the circumstances, whether that suggests that the McCann's know more than they are letting on or not.

I can't take any more of the McCanns, If that poor little girl is dead it is their fault. If she is still alive then I hope she is happy and loved by someone a lot more caring than her birth parents. Never understood why they were not prosecuted for leaving three little children alone because they preferred to eat and drink and socialise with their friends. Don't want to get involved in a long debate because its all been said before. Obnoxious couple who should just slink away and keep quiet.
Oh dear, more McCann bashing.
They made a mistake and paid a terrible price.
There are more than two possible outcomes. Apart from being dead or having adapted happily to her new circumstances, Madeleine might be held as a sex slave, domestic slave or imprisoned underground as we sometimes read about in newspapers.
Give her parents a break. They have been through more than enough.
