They don't understand the long game Davemano. It has to be instant gratification and self congratulation by the day, then quickly create a new inferno to play pretend fireman. Sixth form mind sets that obviously missed out on that learning......in sixth form. Because, Mikey, the SC, as she expected, cleared (1) the possibility of a further High Court case being launched by another Gina Miller clone and (2) somewhat as a bonus the same court clarified exactly what has to be done next and by whom. i.e. the process is entirely a matter for Parliament and not the courts and the devolved Parliaments have no right of input to or veto over the leaving procedure.

From the Referendum result, the UK was supposed to invoke article 50 within 2 years. As the Government will now do that in March, a mere 9 months since the vote, then accusations of unnecessary time wasting seem irrelevent. Due process has been gone through, and obstacles have been overcome.

There's not a legal deadline by which Article 50 must be invoked. There is a two -year limit to complete negotiations ONCE it's triggered unless all the other EU countries agree to an extension.

They know the previous Great Leader made a pig's pudenda of the whole thing and are working tirelessly behind the scenes to get it all back on track.

So as long as the lords and the rest of parliament implemented A50 we get two years of remoaners winging about all the little bits and pieces they demand is kept to keep idiots happy. Faffing around with white papers and generally scuppering negotiations!! Oh what joy.

Once A50 has been invoked and negotiations start (I thought it was to negotiate what we have already contributed to and need to pay for projects already agreed) remoaners will not get what they want because it won't be compatible with actually fact of leaving.

So what happens?
A50 invoked
Negotiations
Not happy remoaners who don't agree a white paper.
What then?
Is the ACTUAL leaving dependant on remoaners agreeing a white paper? That is the bit I am confused about

Did you know that Farron and co did not even turn up to the debate on Tuesday. This was mentioned by Theresa May during PMQs. Farron just said "Well we're here now!"

Oh and it's worth mentioning that Diane Abbot, staunch Corbynite, said "I was too ill to vote!" She looked OK at lunchtime ! LOL

The endless carping and moaning will continue, but it remains meaningless, for the simple reason that we are sailing in uncharted waters with Brexit - no-one knows what is going to happen, so all the doom-mongering is so much guesswork.

I find myself increasingly irritated at the notion by the Remainers that the electorate don't actually know what is good for them (they do!) and didn't really understand what a 'leave' vote would mean (they did!) and now they want to have another vote to ensure that the electorate are really sure they are getting what they wanted.

If you ask the electorate a simple Yes/No question, and they vote Yes, then that's what they want. It makes Remainers look pompous bad losers to infer that the electorate doesn't understand what is going on, and made a bad decision because of it.

As has been advised on this thread - the electorate has answered the question it was asked, and to start saying it was the wrong question because you don't like the answer is a ludicrous position to take.

As a footnote - Mr Corbyn's volte face makes him look even weaker and less in control of his party, as defiance breaks out all over.

We have to be grateful that the will of the people is being enacted by a government savvy enough to know that anything else is electoral suicide. Mr Corbin has the luxury of whining from the side-lines, because his election is already doomed!
