We Proud Ourselves As A Tolerant Nation, So Why Are We So Intolerant Towards The Leader Of Our Friendliest Allies?
188 Answers
We ridicule him, regarding the colour of his skin, his hair style etc, etc.
We ridicule his wife and family, yet had only praise and admiration for the previous President's wife and family.
We condemn him for speaking the truth about some Mexicans, when he says they are rapists and murderers, while we ourselves are reluctant to condemn some of our Muslims even though they have been proven as murdering terrorists etc.
We also raise petitions so as to get his arranged state visit to this country banned, yet in the past have accepted state visits from some of the world's worse despots.
What kind of message does this give out to, not only the President of the USA, but also the millions of American people who voted him in power, why should they be tolerant to what must seem to them as such a nasty little country as ours?

"And we have been discussing that and it is something that is very different, hasn't been discussed before. And it's actually a much bigger deal -- much more important deal in a sense. It would take in many, many countries and would cover a very large territory. So, I didn't know you were going to be mentioning that, but that's now that you did. I think it's a terrific things and I think we have some pretty good cooperation from people that in the past, would never ever have even thought about doing this. So we'll see how that works out. OK."
Really sounds like a man who's on top of his game there eh?
This is what happens when those who think they're not being listened to vote in someone who they think represents them.

My brother...in NY...wrote yesterday that 1 month into this presidency,he feels great fear and anxiety about the future under this "leader". This is a man who has always had a strong interest in both politics and his country.
Making fun of a man with orange skin, who seems to be divorced from reality,is a way to lighten things...when we are gravely worried about the direction he is taking and the repercussions of his decisions.

To answer your points (yours are bracketed):
[We ridicule him, regarding the colour of his skin, his hair style etc, etc.]
It's because his skin colour and his hair ARE ridiculous. A man in his 70s who spends longer on his hair and make-up than Lady Gaga is up for ridicule.
[We ridicule his wife and family, yet had only praise and admiration for the previous President's wife and family.]
His wife stole parts of her FLOTUS speech from Michelle Obama. That's where the ridicule started. As for the rest of his family - I would lay money that most ABers couldn't even name one, let alone ridicule them. The reason why the Obamas as a family were praised and admired is because they conducted themselves with dignity.
[We condemn him for speaking the truth about some Mexicans, when he says they are rapists and murderers, while we ourselves are reluctant to condemn some of our Muslims even though they have been proven as murdering terrorists etc.]
Reread what you've written - it doesn't make sense. What WOULD make sense is if we condemned him for 'speaking the truth about some Mexicans' whilst we ALSO 'spoke the truth' about some Muslim extremists. Because that would make us hypocrites. Furthermore, he did not say SOME Mexicans. This is what he actually said:
"When Mexico sends its people, they're not sending their best. They're not sending you. They're not sending you. They're sending people that have lots of problems, and they're bringing those problems with us. They're bringing drugs. They're bringing crime. They're rapists. And some, I assume, are good people."
It's the other way around. He's saying that some Mexicans are good people, which means that most are bad.
[We also raise petitions so as to get his arranged state visit to this country banned, yet in the past have accepted state visits from some of the world's worse despots.]
That's true, but if you think of people like Nicolae Ceaușescu, Mobutu Sese Seko, Robert Mugabe etc - they all came to the UK years before the Internet and social media. We also did not have the https:/ /petiti on.parl iament. uk during these times. Money on it - if Mugabe planned a visit to the UK, he would be petitioned.
It's these channels which allow people a voice now. A voice that didn't exist in the 70s, 80s and 90s.

It gives the message that along with millions of ordinary Americans that we agree with them, seeing as Trump has the lowest approval rating for any US President...in history.

"So, I'm looking at two-state and one-state and I like the one that both parties like. I'm very happy with the one that both parties like. I can live with either one. I thought for a while the two-state looked like it may be the easier of the two but honestly, if Bibi and if the Palestinians -- if Israel and the Palestinians are happy, I'm happy with the one they like the best."
Erm.....that's OK then.
As for comparing Trump to Obama let's,take the fact that Obama didn't have one member of his staff resign in 8 years. Trump didn't make it one month. They then got a woman called Kellyanne Conway to step in as a trump representative, who said Trump would have stood by Flynn if he hadn't resigned, totally missing the point that what Flynn did was illegal.
If that's how you like your politics then fair enough.

If you mean many of us are reluctant to condemn all Muslims for the crimes committed by a few terrorists then you are right. If you mean we are reluctant to condemn those Muslim terrorists who commit murders then I disagree- I can't remember anyone here ever condoning a terrorist killing
