Surely even for those who don't support Alexander Blackman must agree he has been in prison long enough.

It's a shame that he couldn't be let out now with the paperwork/ admin to follow...

Chilldoubt - //It's patently obvious you have absolutely no idea about the ethos and mindset of Royal Marines, //
I have told you times without number that I do not imagine I understand how anyone would think and feel in that situation.
I do not presume to know how Sergeant Blackman is feeling.
// Sgt Blackman won't lose any more sleep over him and nor should he //
But it seems you do.

Surely this topic has been done to death,if you'll pardon the expression. It's time to let the law take it's course now and release Sgt. Blackman when the sentence to what is now a manslaughter charge is passed and therefore he would be eligible for parole if he has served over half of that revised sentence which he will surely have done.
Islay - //It would appear that we are no longer allowed to comment on questions where it is perceived that we have no personal knowledge!! //
I have argued this exact point numerous times.
Experience is just that - experience, it's not a ticket to demean anyone else's view because they don't have experience that route would see this thread of ex-military personal swapping war stories and agreeing with each other until the cows come home, and everyone else ignoring them with terminal boredom

I have no experience whatsoever of front line warfare, but I’m going to stick my neck out here and say I really don’t care what happens to those fighting for the Taliban, IS, Al-Qaeda, Boko Harem, or anyone else who, given the slightest opportunity, would take great delight in killing our men and women. Yes, I know – that makes me as bad as them, blah, blah, blah, but it seems to me that when our service personnel are hauled up on charges like this, we’re expecting them to fight, metaphorically, with one hand tied behind their backs. In my opinion, Sgt Blackman has done the world a favour.
