How Should Islamic Extremism In The Uk Be Dealt With?

Reportedly last night's terrorists started their attack shouting "This is for Allah". The usual routine after these increasingly common events is for certain people to claim these are not real Muslims, and for a small section of apparently real Muslims to condemn these actions and admit more should be done within their community to stamp out extremism. Yet it appears to be getting worse, not better. To what extent do you feel the British Muslim community as a whole can be held responsible and should be penalised - say by the closing of Mosques and Islamic schools - at least until Islamic extremism is reduced if not eliminated?

Totally agree with Naomi's post (best answer). I'm fed up with us appeasing these people, afraid of upsetting the Muslim communities. This country has been far too soft except it seems with the non indigenous people here and so we have become the downtrodden just so our government can appease certain communities.

Yes it is about time the 'decent' Muslims came out against the bad but they never condemn them like they should. Seems like a cursory mention when you hear of it and no long standing condemnation.

IMO certain people should not be allowed entry into this country and those who are failed 'assylum' seekers sent away forthwith. This ruddy country needs to look at protecting its own and not give priority to non indigenous people.

Start there, once you get tough moderate Muslims will feel safer in coming forward to sweep the rest. Inaction is no longer an option.

I'm not sure I would call them active terrorists. The 20 odd thousand figure was bandied about after the Manchester atrocity, they are people being watched/suspected of terrorist related activities.

Clearly this is where we need to start. Internment for those high on the list at the very least.
