Reportedly last night's terrorists started their attack shouting "This is for Allah". The usual routine after these increasingly common events is for certain people to claim these are not real Muslims, and for a small section of apparently real Muslims to condemn these actions and admit more should be done within their community to stamp out extremism. Yet it appears to be getting worse, not better. To what extent do you feel the British Muslim community as a whole can be held responsible and should be penalised - say by the closing of Mosques and Islamic schools - at least until Islamic extremism is reduced if not eliminated?

Diogenes struck the father when the son swore, For father, read 'imam'. All preaching in UK mosques - and to make it even, in all other religious gatherings - should be done only in English and recorded on CCTV. All Muslim faith schools should be closed.

Mosques seem to be being popping up on every street corner in a certain area where I live, who deals with the requests to build them, is it the local council, and are the councils over the country afraid to upset Islam and its followers by refusing permission for fear of being branded racist?
This is another awful incident but we should remember that its not representative of Islam as a whole, just a few twisted minds.

Having said that, I would like the see the hierarchy of the Muslim faith here in Britain stand a little taller and condemn terrorist attacks. They do at the moment, I am sure but we need it to be much louder and with a higher profile.

I am wondering if the perpetrators of last nights attack were on the radar of the security forces, as Abedi was in Manchester ?
There is no solution and there never will be. The best we can do is acknowledge frankly that Islam presents us with an unassailable problem and start by preventing more Muslims from entering the country, close mosques and Muslim faith schools, and remove all Imams and Islamic literature from prisons. All foreign terrorist sympathisers should be deported without ceremony, along with their families, and the rest incarcerated for life. We won’t do it though. To our own detriment we’re far too conscious of human rights.

Mikey, //we should remember that its not representative of Islam as a whole, just a few twisted minds.//

And you know that how? And how many twisted minds are you talking about?

//I would like the see the hierarchy of the Muslim faith here in Britain stand a little taller and condemn terrorist attacks. They do at the moment, I am sure but we need it to be much louder and with a higher profile.//

Is that your solution?
I'd like to think Salman Abedi could have been stopped seeing as we were warned multiple times by his peers.

I also think Prevent is a fairly solid programme that does a lot of good work to counter fundamentalism before it manifests in this kind of violence.

That's really about it though. So long as cars and knives are legal it is not possible to stop attacks like London Bridge or Westminster (or Nice or Berlin or...). There's not much left to do.
supermax prisons for islamist terrorists, hard time .
deport all suspected islamic terrorists.
stop this ridiculous immigration from islamic countries now !

more to come , its all ahead of us .
rime for people to wake up
and yet the liberal leftwing lunatics will still vote in corbyn
( scratching my head in confusion )
Kromo is right here. We still haven't been told how Abedi managed to plan and carry out his attack, when he was fully known about by the authorities. Good intelligence is key to avoiding further attacks.

Political correctness and the fear of challenging and refusing Muslims having whatever they want in Britain is killing this nation and everything it used to stand for. At this rate the UK will be an Islamic state within 50-100 years
Deport them to where?
Dick....this has nothing to do with Corbyn !

This attack, and the one in Manchester happened under the present Tory rule. Our PM used to be Home Secretary until very recently. She must explain why Abedi evaded capture, when we were warned so many times about him.
Mikey, I’ve told you before. Most, if not all of the people who have committed these atrocities were known to the security services. Numbers are so great (not ‘a few’ as you claim) that it is impossible to monitor them all 24/7. Furthermore, ‘good intelligence’ will never, on its own, stop random attacks. These people need to be removed from our society permanently, and whilst that will never stop it altogether, it will stop known suspects from achieving their ambition and hence, make the world a little safer.
Vernonk...drivel. Abedi was born here. He didn't sneak in, in the back of a lorry from Calais.

There is no evidence whatsoever that Britain will become an Islamic State at any time in the future.
ummmm, to wherever they came from.
Mikey, //Vernonk...drivel. Abedi was born here. He didn't sneak in, in the back of a lorry from Calais. //

His philosophy was imported though. It matters not where these people are born. Islam is Islam - the world over.
Deport people like Abedi back to Manchester perhaps....sounds like a good plan !
Mikey, do you ever read other people's posts - and more to the point, if you do, do you ever understand them?
All of the UK's major religions are imported, it's not exactly a meaningful way to guide policy.

Yeah, if they're not from the UK there's no reason not to deport terror suspects. If they're British citizens, though, we cannot start punishing people without trial.
Kromo....th voice of common sense, in a thread chock full of knee-jerk reactions.
Krom, //we cannot start punishing people without trial. //

Fine. Let's put them on trial.
Mikey, what say you? Should we put them on trial?
What Naomi said.....in conjunction with internment.
