In some prisons the education dept has separate 'cubicles' so that prisoners can study in private. Many prisoners do 'Open University' degree courses for example. The OU even has a special department that caters for students in prisons.

When i see documentaries on prisons they go classes in groups and not one by one for personal tutoring so there's always other prisoners, tutors and guards around you.

Really zacs? So these convicts can get a dongle and use the net to escape, research warders, construct explosive devices or e brainwashed and enraged so they can come out and do this outside? What about "joe shmoe" who is using the net to keep an eye on his drug importation business. Crazy!

A trusted prisoner might be allowed to study in his cell using a prison supplied computer but 'bring your own device' is definitely off limits!

As I said NO INTERNET is allowed just the built in programs.
But I know mobile phones have been smuggled into prisons, sticking it 'up your rectum' is the usual way to get one in. Of course females have another option !

^ Other ways to smuggle stuff in is throwing it over the wall into the jail or of course as in this story bribing a bent screw! I have even heard of drones being used to fly packages into a nick !
