Quangoid: "pitying, shameful" ? Nothing pitying or shameful about it.
Okay we'll both agree to a "Mid life crisis" and leave him be.
mikey, if public anger (even fury is a word to consider) is not reflected by parliamentary votes then history tell us the most likely outcome - and it is not pleasant.
YMG yes I have, and didn't need to put on silly clothing :-)
For once I agree with 3T, it's hard to see parliament getting a say on this - they had it when the A50 bill was tabled and immediately caved. Parliament will need to ratify the treaty, sure, but if they don't we will not stay in the EU by default - we'll be a third country on WTO trading rules.

Of course, I imagine 3T probably disagrees with me that the sidelining of parliament throughout this whole decision is a bad thing for the UK and rather undermines the promise of sovereignty in the first place. But that's another issue.
What is a third country?
Whenever I want someone to steer a country through complex matters of state I always contact an arrogant, frog-faced millionaire with a fondness for strong drink and piles of Euro.

That way I'm guaranteed a fine work ethic and all around good egg.
//What is a third country?//

It's a term the EU uses for a country that is not part of it, and doesn't have any special arrangements with it.
Having implemented Article 50 of the Lisbon treaty there is No way back. Cheers I say.

We are coming out of the EU whatever the Remoaners may think. If the UK now decided that it wished to remain in the EU, it would involve agreement being reached on terms to remain and they could be even tougher than those for a so called 'hard Brexit'.

/// The only way he can influence the BREXIT negotiations is by re-joining the Tory Party, and I can't see that happening....can you ? ///

Who knows stranger things have happened in politics, just look at how Labour's fortunes have changed?

Now if May gets the boot over Europe and a more pro BREXIT party emerges, they may require the help of our Nigel and his followers.

Or disillusioned Labour BREXITS could revitalise the UKIP party, thus illuminating Labour's slim chance of attaining power.

/// Still, there is always his DJ job to fall back on, ///

He hasn't got a DJ job, he is a presenter on LBC radio, and they are a phone-in station which doesn't play music.
Imagine Farage and Corbyn facing each other across the despatch box - wouldn't that be fun?
About time someone shed some light on Labour's slim chance of attaining power.
